About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Loan Closing Specialist within the Commercial Banking Flood Operations team. Operating within the Commercial Banking Operations division, this team is a key control in ensuring Wells Fargo is fully assessing Flood risk and is compliant with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA). Failure to mitigate risk in this portfolio would have significant impacts to the Bank by creating defects that could result in regulatory and policy violations, and adverse impact to internal and external customers.

In this role, you will:
  • Work collaboratively with leaders, colleagues, cross-functional stakeholders, and upstream Credit, Sales and Operational teams to ensure a high standard for regulatory compliance and execution.
  • Oversight and support of effective pipeline management routines for a portfolio of moderately complex commercial loans being worked by frontline production teams to satisfy Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA) regulatory requirements prior to a loan closing.
  • Support production work routing activities for pre-close processing, QC, &/or post-close teams, maintaining oversight of adequate pipeline load balancing and capacity utilization.
  • Act as a change agent, identifying and influencing transformational initiatives that impact Commercial Banking Flood Operations and our clients.
  • Maintain timely and effective execution of control reports and processes.
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing domain knowledge to understand function, policies, & procedures.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Act independently to analyze trends and identify/facilitate continuous training opportunities.
  • Provide support for other initiatives as needed, including guidance, assistance and knowledge support to peers, & support of technology related initiatives.
Required Qualification:
  • 2+ years of Commercial Loan Closing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial real estate loans & the ability to review and interpret complex commercial loan documents.
  • Experience supporting a moderately complex pipeline of work from assignment to completion.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced deadline driven environment and across all organizational levels; where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.
  • Experience with financial services businesses in a regulated environment.
  • Report analysis and compilation.
  • Experience facilitating and leading meetings across multiple business lines.
  • Strong ability to identify and develop recommendations for process change needs and/or risk mitigation opportunities, including acting as a key stakeholder in change execution.
  • Experience with the creation and/or facilitation of training.
  • Understanding of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Guidelines, NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program), FDPA (Flood Disaster Protection Act) Requirements and/or Flood regulations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills .
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to embrace and adapt to change.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, at least 3 days a week working in office. (Wednesday being required day)

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$43,300.00 - $85,500.00
