Business Aligned Finance Director

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Finance leader to lead our financial operations with a strong emphasis on expense management. The Finance leader will be responsible for overseeing budgeting, cost control, financial planning, and risk management to ensure the organization maintains fiscal discipline while supporting growth initiatives.
In this role, you will:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes for shared service groups across Commercial Banking.
- Provide detailed financial statements and analysis to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with department heads to align spending with strategic goals.
- Lead expense allocation process for Commercial Banking
- Lead financial analysis on multi-year investment planning, ensuring that benefits are achievable and tracked.
- Manage and track 3rd party consulting and managed resource arrangements required for investments
- Coordinate with initiative leaders on current year budgets and spend.
- Partner with other CFO teams to develop and implement cost strategies across Commercial Banking
- Develop and implement expense optimization strategies across businesses.
- Monitor and analyze expense trends to identify savings opportunities.
- Lead the finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability and efficiency.
- Advise the Commercial Banking CAO on the financial implications of business decisions.
- Partner with procurement, HR, and other functional partners to streamline cost-related processes
- 8+ years of Finance experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- Proven experience as CFO or senior finance leader with a focus on expense management.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- CPA, CMA, or CFA certification preferred
