Agribusiness Commodities Derivative and Physical Specialist (VP Level)
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President (VP)-Level Sales Specialist to join its Commodity team. This role is a senior client-facing role and involves a high degree of partnership across the platform to provide OTC Commodity execution such as swaps and options and physical Commodity finance structures to bank customers in the agribusiness industry. Experience dealing with food manufactures, commodity merchants, etc is helpful along with any experience in softs, grains, or dairy.
The Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) group provides banking services and financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Within CIB, the Markets Division is responsible for the sales and trading platform which Commodities. The Commodities team helps clients manage exposures to financial or physical commodities globally across energy, metals, and agriculture products.
In this role, you will:
- Drive the best-in-class Commodity execution coverage for agribusiness customers globally.
- Develop relationships internally with banking partners and externally with current and prospective customers while attending industry events and direct client meetings.
- Partner with our commodity structuring team to structure and execute commodity finance transactions such as REPO's, intermediations, or pre-paid structures with external customers.
- Maintain consistent, professional, and value-added client coverage
- Contribute to overall team goals set and participate in platform initiatives
- Maintain strong discipline around credit risk management, XVA and capital to achieve appropriate risk return targets
- Partner effectively with all support areas to deliver superior client experience and service
- Assist with training, mentoring, coaching, and developing junior talent
- Ensure compliance with all new Dodd-Frank and other regulatory rules and help guide team to improve process to meet market practices as they develop
- Understand competitive landscape in commodities and position the team to be successful in the marketplace among peer group of Rates and FX providers
- 5+ years of Commodities experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years commodities experience or other equivalent capital markets experience. This can be in brokerage, banking, trading, funds, merchanting or other.
- 3+ years of client-facing experience, covering all phases required throughout a risk management life cycle including onboarding, negotiation, and trade execution
- Current customer relationships within the agribusiness industry
- Understanding of common capital structures for corporate entities and associated risk management strategies
- Solid creative and strategic thinking skills
- Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Proven ability to develop effective relationships with internal partners and clients
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel with comfort creating original, client/business-ready content
- Self-motivated to perform at a high level
- Desire to work in collaborative environment
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
