Emerson St. for Teens and Young Adults is a combined clinical and psychiatric rehabilitation program that offers a whole-person approach to serving 15- to 26-year-olds with mental health experiences and their caregivers/families. We assist young people experiencing mental health challenges to successfully navigate the transition from adolescence into adulthood as part of a continuum of adult recovery services. We offer outpatient therapy (office-based and community-based) and case management. We also offer psychiatric rehabilitation services including prevention programming (focused on skill building, social and community engagement, and improving overall wellbeing) and Individual Placement and Support-Youth (IPS-Y), an evidence-based model of supported education and supported employment. We also offer Phoenix, specialty care coordination for youth experiencing first and early episode psychosis. Our services are held at 4141 E. Dickenson Pl., via telehealth, and in the community.

The Program Manager will provide clinical and administrative supervision to a multi-disciplinary team to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service delivery. Supervise Assistant Program Manager. Provide clinical support for and supervise case managers as well as supervise psychiatric rehabilitation service providers. Provide supervision for community-based Individual Placement and Support – Youth Specialists and Prevention Services Specialists. Support other Emerson St. staff as needed. Operate within established budgetary guidelines. With support from the Assistant Program Manager, this position will oversee team operations, program development, and community activities to enhance the quality of treatment the people we serve receive. Oversee Prevention Services for youth ages 15-26 who may or may not be receiving clinical services at WellPower. Oversee Emerson St.’s Individual Placement and Support – Youth (IPS-Y) program, ensuring that Emerson’s employment and education services meet program fidelity standards. Build and foster community partnerships to ensure exceptional services at Emerson St. and in the community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • In collaboration with Assistant Program Manager, oversee day-to-day operations of the Emerson St. team.
  • Supervise Assistant Program Manager of the Emerson St. team.
  • Supervise case managers on the Emerson St. Team. Attend case management managers’ meetings.
  • Supervise community-based psychiatric rehabilitation providers on the Emerson St. team. Attend rehabilitation managers’ meetings.
  • Oversee Emerson St.’s Prevention programming for youth, focused on skill building, social and community engagement, and improving overall wellbeing.
  • Oversee Emerson St.’s Individual Placement and Support-Youth (IPS-Y) program, an evidence-based model of supported education and supported employment. Coordinate annual fidelity review (audit) of IPS-Y to ensure that services meet fidelity standards. Coordinate with and attend meetings by the Colorado Office of Employment First (COEF) / BHA.
  • Train and evaluate case management and psychiatric rehabilitation staff to maintain quality within the team; encourage growth and development of staff.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality and efficiency standards are met with regards to medical records standards and service delivery for people we serve. Advocate appropriate services for people we serve.
  • Complete performance evaluations timely and provide appropriate coaching and counseling to ensure all employees perform at satisfactory levels, identify when discipline is appropriate.
  • Build and maintain community partnerships to aid in the growth of psychiatric rehabilitation services. Complete and maintain MOUs for external partners as needed.
  • Manage and assign new referrals to Emerson St. case management and IPS-Y services, and coordinate services with other providers.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal departments to ensure high quality service delivery and data management.
  • Participate in the development of long- and short-term goals for the team that are consistent with program and organizational goals.
  • Participate in the selection process for internal and external candidates for clinical, psychiatric rehabilitation, and support positions.
  • Assist with the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs of the team. Take corrective action as needed to ensure compliance of established budget. Oversee commercial purchasing card use and related record-keeping in a timely fashion. Support with grant implementation as needed.
  • Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provide supervision to Assistant Program Manager, psychiatric rehabilitation staff, and case managers.

EDUCATION: Master’s degree in psychology, social work or other related human services degree. Licensure required (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist). Must have a valid Colorado Driver license and a recent clean driving record. 

EXPERIENCE:  Three years in mental health or human services field including cross-systems experience with multiple providers serving youth ages 15 to 26; two years supervisory experience required. Experience providing trauma informed treatment, recovery-oriented services, and/or addiction treatment required. Experience working in a psychiatric rehabilitation role is required. Experience running groups for youth is required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Self-motivated and directed.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn about and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the realm of clinical supervision and sound clinical ability.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn about Individual Placement and Support – Youth (IPS-Y) model of supported education/employment.
  • Knowledge of and expertise in psychiatric rehabilitation supervision.
  • Knowledge of and expertise in group work, particularly with adolescents.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn about resources specific to the educational system and employment in and around the Denver community.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, case management skills, and care coordination.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and promptly, and work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise written memos, letters and reports of a complex nature.
  • Ability to supervise a multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Demonstrated engagement skills with youth, family members and community partners.
  • Ability to chart, document, review, and present clinical cases to various audiences.
  • Ability to assess the needs of young adults and develop supportive engagement and therapeutic treatment recommendations.
  • Ability to create a treatment and/or outcome plan with measurable results. Includes transition and discharge planning.

NEW HIRE SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $100,000/year - based on experience
