Clinical Student - Crisis Intern - Fall 2024

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title:  Crisis Intern

Location:  Walk in Center

Student Supervisor’s Credentials:  (It depends on the hours the person wants to work) We have staff with the following qualifications: LCSW, LPC, LAC, and PhD who are all interested in supervising.

Brief Program Description: The Walk-in Crisis Center serves anyone who is experiencing a self-identified behavioral health or substance use crisis. We focus on helping an individual address their immediate concerns and identify possible next steps for their well-being. All services are voluntary.  We provide the following services: crisis assessments, supportive counseling, community resources, Families Reunited, and referrals to higher levels of care.

Title and Hours required: 8 to 20 hours a week beginning Fall 2024 semester

Minimum Qualifications and # of openings: In a Master’s level program and completed a diagnosis course. 2 openings

Duties of Placement and Miscellaneous Information: Meet with individuals who come to the WIC for crisis services.  Complete assessments and screening with individuals to determine the best service to meet their needs.  Provide one-time counseling sessions, psychoeducation, and referrals as needed.
