The SRE Manager position within WW's Platform Engineering group is an engineering/management role with responsibilities in the implementation, and support phases of software based platform APIs and orchestration systems that allow for the secure and resilient application deployments into a cloud-agnostic delivery environment.

What you will do:

As the leader of SRE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of our systems and services. Your primary focus will be on leading the team that implements, and supports phases of software based platform APIs and orchestration systems that allow for the secure and resilient application deployments into a cloud-agnostic delivery environment, as well as resolving service incidents in real-time, requiring in-depth knowledge of cloud services in AWS and GCP. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for diagnosing and troubleshooting complex problems and will be self-driven and highly communicative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Solid, real-world, understanding and experience implementing and supporting container-based orchestration via Kubernetes. Docker, CNI, RBAC, Telemetry
  • Proficiency in operating multi-AZ and multi-region environments in cloud provider environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Advanced level knowledge of modern web transport protocols: REST, HTTP/2, gRPC.
  • Advanced level knowledge of designing and implementing modern monitoring and observability solutions.
  • Solid proficiency with scripted and programmatic automations (we work in Bash, Python, Node).
  • Proficient with an infrastructure provisioning language (terraform, cloudformation, Ansible, etc)
  • Experience with modern data pipelines (e.g. Kinesis/Kafka)
  • Experience with modern web serving technologies (e.g. Nginx/Fastly)
  • Proficient with an infrastructure provisioning language (terraform, cloudformation, Ansible, etc)
  • Well versed with and working knowledge of other associated software deployment tools (git, github actions, etc), and CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of Identity and Access Management technologies and implementations

Preferred Requirements:
  • 6+ years experience deploying and managing large-scale web services in high availability environments.
  • 5+ years building and managing container-based application deployments in an orchestrated environment.
  • Computer science degree or equivalent academic or professional background.

Our titles cover more than one career level. The starting range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000 annually. Actual base pay may vary depending on, but not limited to: skills, education and years of experience. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package and annual bonus program.
