Secondary Operations Helper - 2nd Shift

Hourly Range: $20.25 - $21.25 + shift premium

2nd Shift

SUMMARY:
The Secondary Operations Helper assists in all aspects of the Secondary Department. The Helper has a flexible role in the Secondary Department as they are moved into Repair, Straightening, and Etch operations as needed. As a result, the Helper attains skills and training required to be moved to a more specialized and permanent role in the Secondary Operations group which best fits the individual’s skill set.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
• Learn the fundamentals of forging
• Follow direction of the acting superior, lead man, and/or supervisor

• Maintain clean and safe working environment; embrace a clean as you go policy
• Learn the basic skills of the helper position which include but are not limited to:
• Safely operate hand grinders, swing grinders and other cutting tools to repair aluminum or titanium blockers
• Repair techniques for aluminum and titanium forgings
• Safely setup and maintain air grinders and other tools on a daily basis
• Safely operate a forklift/manipulator under supervision
• Safely operate applicable cranes under supervision along with the supporting equipment such as slings, scissor clamps, pac-man clamp, etc.
• Navigate the necessary functions of the ERP system
• Navigate and understand shopfloor instructions
• Basic part compliance (down to size, filled, defect free)

As a key member of Weber Metals, additional responsibilities also include but are not limited to:
• Demonstrate importance of the Weber Metals Safety Policy to the success of Weber Metals
• Demonstrate importance of the Weber Metals Quality Policy to the success of Weber Metals
• Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Environmental Policy
• Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Business Management System
• Work in a team environment to meet target dates
• Responsible for reporting to work on time, with proper PPE, and being fully engaged for the entire shift
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
• Be able to comply with ITAR and EAR residency requirements
• Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Education/Experience
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Experience in the forging or metals industry is preferred
