Overview

The Content Developer researches, plans, schedules, and produces technical documentation in various formats for a global audience. This individual works as a contributing member of the Clinical Content Development department, which is an international, multi-disciplinary team that develops content to support Waters' clinical chemistry, devices, and software.

This is a hybrid position that requires you to be in the office three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Write accurate, concise, and well-written technical content in various electronic formats for a global audience.
  • Gather raw information from SMEs and other project stakeholders, evaluate its accuracy and relevance, and transform it into audience-appropriate content.
  • Identify and suggest areas for change or improvement within the project team.
  • Follow content, tool, and process guidelines, and understand how adherence to these guidelines affects the efficiency of downstream stakeholders (editors, reviewers, validators, and translators) and the quality of the end product.
  • Collaborate as a member of cross-functional project teams by attending meetings, interacting with subject matter experts, and establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all Waters employees.
  • Continually improve technical skills and show interest in taking on new tasks.
  • Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    Experience: Either a scientific background or prior technical writing experience (you may include personal projects or coursework from school).

    Proficiencies:
  • Ability to write technical or scientific content.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and acquire in-depth product knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the Clinical Content Development department in a professional manner.
  • Ability to manage tasks and documentation in an organized manner.
  • Understanding of technical writing principles and practices (Examples: information architecture, Plain English, writing for translation, content reuse, readability, usability, content management systems).
  • Travel (If Applicable): Ability to travel to the United States and the United Kingdom.
