Waters Romania are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Connected Science Team. As a Software Engineer you will have a key role in creating revolutionary, impactful software and services that our customers love. Building on a platform created using mainly C# and .NET technologies over several architectural layers, we create web applications and public APIs on top of this Platform, optimizing the provided solution cross-OS and using small footprint client. Future steps are considering extending and building new functionalities on a Cloud-based platform.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer you will:

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle within a structured development process, from planning through deployment and support.
  • Apply solid understanding of object-oriented principles (e.g., SOLID) and basic performance considerations to contribute to code design and documentation.
  • Collaborate with your agile team and senior engineers to implement designs and deliver functional, reliable software.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and produce documentation that aligns with team coding standards, quality practices, and the team's Definition of Done.
  • Contribute to the creation of automated tests to ensure code correctness and system stability.
  • Provide accurate estimates of your work and regularly update progress to support planning and delivery timelines.
  • Take initiative in identifying opportunities for improving code quality, development processes, or team collaboration.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions, particularly around scalability, maintainability, performance, and security, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Offer technical support for internal or external users, as needed, under the guidance of senior staff.

As a team member you will:

  • participate in all team meetings and ceremonies in direct collaboration with other sites, provide input and feedback, take ownership on identified improvements
  • actively participate in learning and sharing activities either during informal or formal training and demos
  • demonstrate continuous technical improvement

Qualifications

  • You have a University degree (preferably in a science related subject or in engineering)
  • You have C++ Software Programming experience and a basic experience in applying technical standards
  • Strong object-oriented design and programming skills and data base knowledge
  • You are using effciently your communication, teamwork, analysis and decision making skills and you are familiar with Agile methodologies.
  • You are fluent in English - speaking, reading, writing - Advanced Level
  • You care about software; you have a passion for what you do which you can clearly convey by your actions and experiences. You have an eye for software design and can talk eloquently on a range of topics due to your experiences and also from reading and experimentation
