Principal Biopharma Sales Development Specialist

Overview

Waters is seeking a dynamic contributor to fill the role of an Bio Pharmacuetical Business Development Specialist. This person will have the exciting opportunity to drive the sales of our full range of products and services, which include: Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography System, Mass Spectrometers, software, consumables and services for the East Region.

The desired candidate should be highly self-motivated to develop and implement a regional business plan, while working in unison with their assigned specialists and marketing colleagues in order to deliver a strong call cycle and business development activities. The foundation of the Bio Pharmacuetical Business Development's role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers' needs to craft solutions with lasting and substantial impact.

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively develop the Bio Pharm. market-space.
  • Perform Solutions based selling to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Implement strategic marketing/sales initiatives into the region that are consistent with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Keep current on assigned market dynamics, applications trends, and competitive information.
  • Manage Forecast, establishment of sales goals and pipeline management.
  • Develop and maintain technical proficiency with Waters solutions and be recognized by customers as a credible resource.
  • Fully utilize Waters sales contact management tools and applications.
  • Participate in the support of trade shows, local technical discussion groups/ and customer seminars.
  • Drive technical discussions with customers to gain a deep understanding of their needs and identify growth opportunities.
  • Travel within in the territory will be about 30-40%

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree, Masters, or PhD in scientific area such as chemistry, biology, or biochemistry

Experience:

  • 5+ years chromatography experience.
  • UPLC, Mass Spec, field sales and/or marketing is a plus
  • Overnight travel is required and international travel as needed

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of up stream and down stream Bio Processing and Product Critical Quality Attribute monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of/or experience with clone selection, protein functional analyses, and the analysis of cell culture media.
  • Field sales and marketing experience a plus.
  • Productive and self committed to results.
  • Able to optimally lead a team to increase market share.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. #LI-Remote
