Overview

The Technical Business Intelligence Analyst will act as a liaison between Waters business divisions, functional IT teams and the Business Intelligence team. Working with key business stakeholders and key team members of IT, this resource will lead translating business strategies to necessary business outcomes and technical deliverables. The BI Technical Analyst will become an expert in business processes and the applications used by the business to drive key performance indicators (KPIs). From this the BI Technical Analyst will translate analytics/reporting business requirements into detailed technical designs, ensuring scalable and efficient solutions. The BI Technical Analyst will also work in conjunction with the IT Leadership and PMO to align with the business on prioritization of solution work, providing detailed communication on scheduled progress, testing and release of project work. This position will provide ample cross-functional exposure across various internal departments. The analyst role is ideal for an individual seeking to deliver impactful intelligence projects to support Waters strategic decisions at the executive level.

Responsibilities

  • Front facing IT representative to manage/deliver analytics/report business requests and effectively convert into implementable solutions or actionable analysis
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales & Services and IT resources in the requirements, design, testing and deployment of the organization's analytics & reporting solutions
  • Manage the integrity, structure and organization of Waters data to maximize its value and accuracy
  • Own the development and overall maintenance of technical design documents, including summary, system design, data lineage, change controls and signoff
  • Develop well-organized, insightful data points, reports, dashboards, and other forms of data visualizations to support strategic business decisions, primarily through an Enterprise Data Warehouse and reporting platform
  • Provide input on architecture of Data Model and ETL processes based on business requirements and in-depth knowledge of data sources
  • Work with the technical and functional teams to identify data anomalies and ensure report accuracy

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translating them into operational requirements
  • Expertise is SAP ECC & Salesforce data flow and structures
  • Must be able to effectively explain the structure and findings of deliverables to various internal stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, juggling several simultaneous tasks.
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Exceptional prioritization, proficient problem analysis, process and project management skills
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational data models
  • Understanding of ETL tools and data transformation
  • Demonstrated experience with creating reports, dashboards, and/or summarizing large amounts of data into actionable intelligence to drive business decisions
  • Experience with leading Business Intelligence tools such as SAP Embedded, SAP SAC, PowerBI
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using SQL and PL/SQL for performing data profiling, formatting and ad hoc data analysis
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Cross-functional, working with Application Business Analysts, Data Architects, ETL/Report Developers, QA & Support resources to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Familiarity working in an Agile Project Management methodology

Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics/Statistics or another related major field of study and 2 or more years' experience in a data analytics decision support role. Masters Preferred
