Your New Role
Avalanche, a division of Warner Bros. Games, Inc., seeks a talented storyteller and writer with a deep understanding of the wizarding world. Applicants should be excellent writers as well as creative, self-motivated problem solvers who enjoy collaborating with other writers and designers to create an immersive game narrative.
Role Accountabilities
- Collaborate with the story, design, and cinematics teams to develop compelling, complex, branching narratives that fit the world and the gameplay experience.
- Research and play a variety of videogames to keep current on gaming trends and understand how stories intertwine with gameplay.
- Research brand-specific details to ensure authenticity to the wizarding world.
- Modify and edit work as needed based on direction from story and design teams and franchise representatives, including rewriting and editing dialogue as a result of playtesting and design changes.
- Review product as necessary, including playing builds of the game when available, to ensure narrative quality and accuracy to the world.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
- At least 3+ years of relevant game production experience.
- Proficiency as a storyteller and writer, with a special emphasis on screenwriting and branching dialogue.
- Work that shows a deep understanding of gaming narrative and branching storytelling, particularly in the realm of RPGs.
- Expertise in Final Draft and Microsoft Excel a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the game-making process.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and deliver work in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including impeccable spelling and grammar.
- Strong belief in a team-based approach.
