Your New Role...

As Manager, Event, lead world-class event operations through strategic planning and stakeholder collaboration.
Inspire teams to deliver exceptional service, drive commercial success, and exceed visitor expectations.
Innovate and adapt to future needs through product development, safety leadership, and agile business management.

Your Role Accountabilities...

1. Create Connections

  • In consultation with the Director of Visitor Experience, work with key stakeholders to promote and develop a world class event product for WBSTT in accordance with the business strategy.
  • Select and integrate commercial partners in the on-going operation of WBSTT, helping to drive high standards through those engagements so we offer an unrivalled service
  • Manage operational teams to exceed client and visitor expectations.
  • Work with Senior Leadership Team to plan and execute townhall meetings

2. Succeed Together
  • Lead and motivate events team and catering partner(s), to achieve the highest possible levels of service and sales performance.
  • Ensure that the preparation of all planners, rotas and schedules is up to date and that all events are appropriately staffed.
  • Work with the finance team to collate commercial data, market intelligence and feedback information on performance.


3. We Focus on the Future
  • Develop new products and services to meet the needs of visitors and clients.
  • Maximise margins through cost management and effective pricing.
  • Drive development of new income streams, business opportunities and projects connected with events and food & beverage.
  • Analyse and interpret commercial data and feedback information on performance.
  • Ensure our sales targets are achieved by fully maximising all opportunities.


4. We are agile
  • Lead and monitor all H&S policies and procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for staff and visitors.
  • Support the team at WBSTT as part of a duty management team.
  • Ensure administrative work is accurate and up to date.
  • Effective commercial management, developing sales forecasts, positive solutions and documented action plans to maximise profit.


Duty Management
  • Act as Building Controller during event activities, with responsibility for the site, the Health & Safety of the tour and it's guests, and activities during event operations.
  • Support the team at WBSTT as part of a duty management team (as part of a seven-day week rota including weekends and evenings).
  • Participate in cover of the Studio Tour as necessary including weekend, bank holiday, school holiday and late evening cover in rotation with other team members.
  • Selection Criteria
  • Relevant Previous Work Experience
  • Management / Leadership experience in a similar hospitality environment (Restaurant, hotel, tourism, leisure or heritage industry).
  • Experience of having worked in an environment where high emphasis is placed on service, standards, and commercial management.
  • Experience of planning and managing large events.



Qualifications & Experiences...
  • Plan and implement initiatives to improve service quality and revenue through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Solve problems and make decisions across various operational areas on a daily basis.
  • Analyze data to identify issues and drive effective solutions.
  • Deliver high-level customer service with a flexible and team-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrate IT literacy and strong communication skills in both Japanese and English.


Working Pattern:
  • 37.5 hours a week working shifts.
  • Regular weekend and evening work required.
  • Because of the adaptive nature of this role flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business.
