Your New Role:
The Staff Architect, Innovation, Research & Dev will play a visionary and strategic role within the Platform Architecture team, focusing on forward-thinking investigations into emerging features and evolving modules of the ServiceNow platform. Based in Atlanta and reporting to the Director of Enterprise Architecture, this role will serve as a key driver of innovation, helping shape the future of enterprise service delivery through experimentation, prototyping, and platform exploration.
This role requires a deep understanding of the core architecture of ServiceNow, including its data models, platform capabilities, and extensibility. The Innovation Architect will lead the design and execution of proof-of-concepts (POCs), pilot new ServiceNow features, and evaluate their potential to transform business processes. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technologist with a passion for innovation, a strong grasp of ServiceNow's roadmap, and the ability to translate emerging capabilities into practical enterprise solutions.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Innovation Strategy & Research
- Lead research into emerging ServiceNow features, modules, and platform capabilities to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the ServiceNow roadmap and industry trends to inform strategic planning.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Service Transformation to align innovation initiatives with business goals and transformation priorities.
- Develop innovation frameworks and methodologies to guide experimentation and evaluation.
Prototyping & Proof-of-Concept Development
- Design and build prototypes and POCs to validate new ideas and assess the feasibility of emerging ServiceNow capabilities.
- Pilot new modules and features (e.g., AI/ML, App Engine Studio, Process Automation Designer) to evaluate their business impact.
- Document findings, lessons learned, and recommendations for broader adoption or refinement.
- Ensure technical soundness and architectural alignment of all experimental solutions.
Platform Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Provide architectural guidance on the use of ServiceNow's core platform, including data models, scripting, integrations, and extensibility.
- Ensure that innovation efforts align with platform standards, governance, and scalability requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on ServiceNow architecture, advising teams on best practices and emerging capabilities.
- Collaborate with platform engineering and development teams to transition successful pilots into production-ready solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement
- Engage with business and technical stakeholders to gather input, share insights, and promote a culture of innovation.
- Facilitate workshops, demos, and innovation showcases to communicate the value of new capabilities.
- Develop enablement materials and technical documentation to support adoption and knowledge transfer.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on the strategic use of ServiceNow for digital transformation.
Qualifications & Experiences:
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, platform engineering, or innovation roles, with a strong focus on ServiceNow.
- Deep expertise in ServiceNow platform architecture, including data models, scripting, integrations, and module configuration.
- Proven experience designing and delivering prototypes, pilots, or POCs in a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow's roadmap, including AI/ML, App Engine, Automation Engine, and emerging modules.

- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or eqivalent relevant work experience.
Not Required but Preferred Experience:
- Master's degree
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and Certified Application Developer.
- Experience with Agile development, design thinking, and innovation frameworks.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF).
- Experience working in large, matrixed organizations or within the public sector.
Locally based candidates will be reviewed as a priority as relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
MUST be able to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future. This will include OPT.
