We seek a Sr. QA engineer to assess application quality through manual and automated functional testing. This role also collaborates with the Business and technical analyst to validate the data reaches the back end by executing queries and scripts. This role will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches to the Development team. This role also approves deployments to the UAT environment and gives their consent to move code to production. Also works with and coaches other QA engineers.

The QA engineer has a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills in this role. High-level responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and analyzing system specifications.
  • Executing test scripts and reviewing results.
  • Reporting and documenting technical issues.
  • Quality assurance and data integrity.

Your Role Accountabilities:

  • Review and analyze system specifications.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans.
  • Create and execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results.
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications.
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams.
  • Help troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the application development lifecycle.
  • Run scripts to validate quality and data integrity.
  • Coaches other QA engineers and makes sure best practices are being enforced.

Essential

  • Fluent in English - both written and oral - and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical IT stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a team environment under the direction of a technical lead, Project Manager, or Business Analyst.
  • More than 8 years of experience as a Quality Assurance, Tester, or similar role
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. qTest, Zephyr) and SQL
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science.

Desirable

  • Broad knowledge and experience in Scrum and Agile methodology.
  • Broad knowledge of working with Business Process Management tools, such as Pega Systems
  • Broad knowledge of coaching and management skills.
