Your New Role...
As a Senior Engineer specializing in switchgear controls, you'll play a key role in the design, integration, and lifecycle support of critical electrical infrastructure across Warner Bros. Discovery's technical facilities. You'll focus on modernizing and optimizing switchgear control systems, ensuring high availability, resilience, and operational efficiency in support of 24/7 broadcast and IT operations. This role blends hands-on engineering with strategic planning, offering the opportunity to shape the future of facility automation and control systems across a global media enterprise.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Design & Integration: Lead the design, programming, and commissioning of advanced switchgear control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA platforms.
- System Modernization: Drive the evolution of legacy systems toward modern, networked, and software-defined architectures using protocols like BACnet & Modbus over IP and MS/TP.
- Project Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams-engineering, operations, vendors, and contractors-to deliver high-impact infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
- Reliability Engineering: Analyze system performance, identify failure points, and implement control strategies to improve uptime and fault tolerance.
- Documentation & Standards: Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including control schematics, logic diagrams, and commissioning protocols. Contribute to the development of internal standards and best practices.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage vendors and integrators for control system components, ensuring compliance with technical and operational requirements.
- Innovation & Research: Stay current with emerging technologies in power distribution, automation, and facility monitoring. Recommend and pilot new solutions to enhance system intelligence and efficiency.
- Support & Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 3 support for critical electrical systems, including root cause analysis and resolution of complex control issues.
Qualifications & Experiences...
- Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems), Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
- Experience: 10+ years in electrical engineering with a focus on switchgear controls, power distribution, or facility automation in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers, broadcast facilities, or industrial plants).
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of low and medium-voltage switchgear systems, including domestic 480V and international 380/400/415V architectures.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Facility Monitoring Systems (FMS).
- Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming (e.g., ABB, ALC, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, Tridium, Woodward).
- Strong understanding of communication protocols: BACnet & Modbus.
- Experience with SCADA platforms and SQL-based data logging.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Occasional domestic or international travel required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLC, Automated Logic WebCTRL or Siemens Desigo systems.
- Familiarity with cloud-based monitoring and control platforms.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
