It is where our exclusive Max Originals and iconic entertainment brands thrive, with HBO, HBO Max, Warner Bros., DC, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network and more delivering the greatest array of series, movies, and specials for audiences of all ages. HBO Max originally launched in the United States in May 2020 and introduced a lower priced, advertising-supported tier in June 2021. It rolled out globally across Latin America and the Caribbean in 2021, followed by its first European launches in the Nordics and Spain later that year. In May 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery introduced Max, an enhanced streaming platform, in the U.S. HBO Max is currently available in 46 countries and there are plans for the continued global expansion of Max in 2024.

We're looking for a talented and driven Technical Program Manager to join our SPARK team. In this position, you will be responsible for shepherding the efficiency and delivery output of new features within the technical platform team responsible for producing the core product experience for MAX. The right candidate is passionate about advancing the video streaming consumer experience and possesses a strong program management background, with a demonstrated ability to not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. As a Technical Program Manager, you will anticipate bottlenecks, recognize the most impactful issues to the customer experience, generate appropriate visibility with the senior-most leadership in SPARK, negotiate, prioritize, and track mitigation and resolution of risks. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, technical process improvement acumen, analytical talent and being proactive are essential to success in this role.

Your Role Accountabilities...

As a Technical Program Manager, your day-to-day activities will involve:

  • Experience in Technical program management, particularly within technology. Subscription services obviously a plus.


  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and maintain a strong eye for detail.


  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and experience conducting scrum ceremonies.


  • Superior communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.


  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.


  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.


  • Experience in working with or managing remote or distributed teams.


  • Certifications in program management or agile methodologies (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).

Qualifications & Experience...

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • You MUST have experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Suite of products.


  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, in varying stages, across multiple products and stakeholder groups, with good judgment.


  • Ability to anticipate issues and risks before they have a material impact on delivery. When they do have a material impact, ability to autonomously quantify impact, weigh options, identify the best path forward, align stakeholders, and drive to success.


  • You are highly skilled in working in a global environment, both with colleagues across multiple time zones and countries as well as delivering products and services on a truly global scale. You also have an appreciation of cultural differences between regions and countries, always striving to deliver the best possible services for customers within the global product portfolio.

Main Responsibilities...

  • Overseeing multiple technology programs, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and align process.


  • Creating and managing detailed program plans for initiatives and providing leadership in helping teams quickly and effectively adapt to change.


  • Collaborating across functions to ensure timely delivery of dependencies.


  • Working with Product Managers and Feature Technical Program Managers to establish and create efficient backlogs.


  • Maintaining open communication channels with product management, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.


  • Providing regular program status to various stakeholders including executive sponsors.


  • Supervising and coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration towards common goals.
