Your New Role...
CNN is seeking a dynamic, experienced Senior Producer to work directly with veteran journalist John King on signature reporting projects. This role includes acting as the senior producer of All Over the Map - a compelling, multi-platform series that explores American politics through the voices of voters.

This is a rare opportunity for someone who brings editorial excellence and vision, creative visual storytelling, and technical execution together in one role. You'll shape high-impact, narrative-driven journalism that resonates with audiences across broadcast, digital, streaming and social platforms.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Serve as lead editorial producer for John King's political reporting projects, including All Over the Map
  • Pitch, plan, and execute original reporting from concept to completion
  • Direct field shoots and operate camera in the field - shooting experience is necessary
  • Oversee post-production: guide the narrative arc, supervise edits, and ensure content meets CNN's editorial and technical standards
  • Creative storyteller who can translate complex political issues into engaging narratives
  • Collaborate closely with King, photojournalists, editors, and digital teams to deliver multiplatform storytelling
  • Lead a small, cross-functional team, adapting to different environments and project demands
  • Innovate storytelling formats to bridge traditional political journalism for a digital-first audience

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in digital or broadcast journalism, including significant field production experience
  • Deep editorial judgment, particularly in political coverage and election reporting
  • Shooting experience required, with an ability to deliver visually compelling field content
  • Proficiency with editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Avid) and experience producing across platforms
  • Proven leadership skills: ability to manage people and projects with clarity, empathy, and flexibility
  • Strong storytelling instincts, especially when turning data or policy into compelling narratives
  • Ability to think cross-platform and reach diverse audiences
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on multi-platform or interactive content
  • Familiarity with data-driven or visual journalism
  • Background in voter-focused or long-form political reporting

Why Join Us:
CNN offers a fast-paced, collaborative newsroom environment where original reporting is valued and innovation is encouraged. You'll work closely with one of America's most respected political journalists on projects that reimagine how political stories are told - with the voter at the center and impact at the forefront.
