Major activities

Process Management: Oversee and manage the entire record-to-report process, which includes journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and financial close activities.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 5-10 R2R professionals, providing guidance and direction to ensure the team's productivity and performance meet or exceed established goals.

Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other relevant reports for internal stakeholders.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Ensure compliance with SoX guidelines.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the R2R process.

Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data and variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide insights into the balance sheet flux.

Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, ensuring audit requirements are met and audit findings are addressed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other finance and operational teams to gather information, resolve issues, and improve data quality.

Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in finance and accounting.

  • : Assist in various global transformation initiatives and projects, like implementation of S4 Hana, Synchronization of accounting policies etc.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • The R2R lead of APAC Warner Media is a key role in the finance and accounting department of an organization. This role involves managing a team of professionals responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial data, as well as delivering timely and accurate financial reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant or CPA with 10+ years of post-qualification accounting experience in international and matrix organization with a focus on record to report processes.
  • Must have strong practical and theoretical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Very good written and spoken English is a must.
  • Proficient and experienced in MS Office applications, command over excel is a must.
  • Experience with enterprise information systems (SAP, People Soft).
  • High Integrity team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with others and promote positive working relationships across the organization.
  • Motivated by challenging, high-energy, flexible environment. Ability to work under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent and changing situations.
  • The ability to plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines is fundamental so too is effective time management of workflow to meet accounting deadlines.
  • Attention to details and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Supervisory experience of leading team size of 5-10 resources.
