Senior Associate, Global Streaming Content Strategy

The Team

The HBO Max Content Analysis team is responsible for executing on detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis to further deepen our understanding of programming performance on HBO Max. The team creates programming performance insights, recommendations, and analyses based on HBO Max business objectives, data, and research. As part of the larger Direct-to-Consumer Strategy and Research organization, the team works closely with Strategy and Research as well as the HBO Max Data Science & Business Intelligence, content strategy, and programming teams.

The Job

We are looking for an analyst, based in New York, who will provide strategic and analytical support on recurring analyses and specific projects related to better understanding the performance of HBO Max programming. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Content Analysis, this analyst will work on key initiatives for the most senior leaders in the organization. These projects include identifying key programming trends driving the HBO Max business, continuously developing answers to key programming-related questions, and working with data scientists to develop KPIs for performance. This role requires a high level of collaboration with partners in various business units across WarnerMedia, primarily with partners in the Studios and Networks group and within the DTC organization.

The Daily

  • Provide analytical support on major initiatives related to understanding HBO Max content performance
  • Create executive-ready presentations to summarize key findings, recommendations, and content evaluations
  • Analyze usage data and user behaviors behind content consumption to create actionable insights and support HBO Max content decision-making
  • Support with project management to manage recurring deliverables and continued optimization of analyses / processes related to content across the organization
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of industry and content-related consumer trends
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as Content Strategy and Planning, TV & Film Development executives, Content Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, Research, Finance, and Growth


The Essentials
  • At least 2 years of work experience that includes one or a combination of the following:
    • Management Consulting within the Media or Technology practice
    • Investment Banking within the Media or Technology practice
    • Corporate development or strategy at a media or technology company
    • Content Strategy or Data Analytics at a media or technology company
  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Data Analytics / Visualization tools like Looker preferred
  • A keen eye for presentation design and the ability to distill complex concepts and analyses into clear, easy-to-understand presentations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with several deliverables under tight deadlines
  • Passionate about the industry with a voracious appetite for entertainment (particularly HBO Max programming) and industry news
  • Experience communicating to and interfacing with senior executives and management teams
  • High level of integrity, strong work ethic, deep intellectual curiosity, and willingness to think outside the box
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative DNA
  • Ability to thrive and take initiative in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $90,418.00 - $167,919.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
