Overall Purpose of the Role
CNN International, the world's news leader, provides awarding winning content across multiple platforms to upscale global citizens. The Advertising Sales team is a dynamic group responsible for driving global revenue on all CNN platforms.
CNN International is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Sales Assistant to support the execution and delivery of cross-platform advertising campaigns across CNN's international commercial platforms. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all elements of a campaign-from booking through to reporting-run smoothly and efficiently.
The Sales Assistant is responsible for providing administrative assistance and support to Sales Planners, Manager and the team Directors within the CNNIC sales team. The role is within the Advertising Sales department with a split focus on Africa/CEE/CIS SE (50%) and Middle East (50%) regions.
Areas of Responsibility
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Administrative account maintenance
- Coordinate and book cross-platform campaigns, ensuring timely activation and accurate scheduling
- Oversee and monitor campaign delivery, proactively identifying and resolving issues such as missing creative assets or sponsorship scheduling conflicts to ensure all components are executed seamlessly
- Track revenue and campaign status to support accurate forecasting
- Prepare pre-, mid-, and post-campaign reports with performance insights
- Support new business setup, including processing contracts and invoices
- Maintain organised records of bookings, creative assets, client deliverables, and payment statuses
Selection criteria
- Graduate with relevant degree;
- Knowledge of CNN;
- Intelligent, organised, pro-active and hardworking;
- Language - fluent in English, however another language is desirable;
Competency assessment
- Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail;
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Organised, pro-active and hardworking;
- Ability to cope in a very busy environment, to prioritise and multitask;
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; attention to detail is a must
- Good interpersonal skills (work well with others in an open-plan department);
- The confidence to build and maintain relationships with clients and agencies;
- An interest in current affairs and an international outlook;
- A keen attitude and willingness to learn, remain motivated and ambition to progress within the industry.
