Your New Role...

Are you a storyteller? Do you want to be integral in delivering news as it happens to a global audience? If so, then this is your job. The Producer I is a part of our frontline in domestic newsgathering constantly dispatched to field assignments. We break news, tell stories and find stories in a fast-paced environment

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Producer I (Field Producer), is responsible for covering both breaking news in real time, as well as generating, pitching and executing creative, enterprise reporting and story ideas for linear and digital platforms.
  • This role is a weekend position, working hand in hand with our weekend team in the field and in the office to generate unique content and respond to breaking news on the weekend.
  • The Producer I will hit the road often at a moment's notice and must be ready to collaborate with the rest of the weekend teams, including correspondents, writers, editors, show producers and photojournalists.
  • They identify and develop stories, interview individuals for breaking stories and character-driven enterprise stories, and help to write text stories and scripts for digital and linear platforms.
  • While extensive experience shooting video is not required, a willingness to learn and develop shooting and editing skills is required of any candidate.
  • The Producer I will be expected to shoot elements for stories and eventually shoot entire digital video stories.


Qualifications & Experience...
  • At least 2-4 years hands on producing on a network level or major market experience.
  • Ability to shoot video. Familiarity with FX6 preferred though not required. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere is also preferable, although not required.
  • Excellent writing skills, someone with a record of identifying and producing character driven, textured pieces with reporters.
  • Must possess great research and digging skills.
  • Experience working with correspondents and photojournalists in the field is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment that is 24 hours/ 365 days a year and a willingness to do frequent and often last minute travel.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $47,802.00 - $88,776.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
