Your Role
The Manager, Studio Operations will be assigned to multiple production clients and projects and will serve as the Studio's point person for each client in all matters relating to the scheduling, occupancy, logistics and support of their assigned spaces. This position will primarily support physical production at our Burbank lots and could also be assigned several specialty projects including supporting
- Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood - production, logistics, and events related to the Tour
- Publicity - physical production, clearances, and location needs for shoots
- WBD Corporate Events - logistics for Town Halls, events, investor days, large guest count meetings
- WBSO Special Events - securing event locations, backlot availability, coordination and utilization of main lot spaces in conjunction with Production needs.
Facilitates and ensures smooth execution of features, television, and commercial production, special events, WBSO projects and all other activities undertaken by the clients which utilize the Main Lot and/or Ranch sets, service departments and other related WBSO resources. The Manager will also support production office-based clients in office set ups, move outs, and ongoing office support including building maintenance and construction projects. The Manager also directly manages their assigned senior clerk and supports growth and development opportunities and manages their time.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Production requirements include securing availability of WBSO-provided locations and equipment as requested by clients; tech scouts/walk-throughs for future clients and/or to confirm plans for existing clients; parking needs; checking and confirming space conditions and readiness for incoming occupancy. Provide 24/7 on-call for stage and production office-based clients. Examples include: deciding when to contact WBD Security to open buildings, stages and other sensitive and secure areas; authority to enforce the production to adhere to WBSO policies and procedures; will be expected to diffuse any unpleasant interactions; must be available to decide & respond to short notice requests by tenants; will act as a 24/7 liaison with WBSO Safety, Security, Burbank Fire, and other departments to provide clients with proper guidance necessary to ensure compliance with safety measures; will also act as a 24/7 liaison with Studio's Utility group for building emergencies; deciding to shut down a production, if the production is in violation of the noise ordinance. Schedule & delegate daily requirements for assigned projects to Studio Operations' Senior Clerks.
- Communication with various WBSO departments to ensure that clients' direct interaction with departments is positive and meets with clients' satisfaction. Includes making expenditures to correct safety and aesthetic concerns, or to mitigate more costly long-term damage, at the Manager's discretion.
- Assisting Studio Operations Managers, providing support to various project-specific tasks (scheduling of sets and offices, maintenance issues, parking allocation, coverage when on vacation, etc.)
- Custody of interior and exterior spaces utilized by assigned projects. Responsible for reporting, receiving approval for and initiating repair and maintenance activity, as required. Responsible for ensuring the exteriorperimeters arealways kept clean and clear in compliance with WBSO and Burbank city fire-safety codes. Provides recommendations of both maintenance and capital improvement projects on production facilities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Preferred 5 years in film/television production or production facility operations
- Preferred 5 years in a supervisory or management role
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
- Enthusiasm for entertainment production and the myriad challenges it presents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to withstand and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced workload and effectively balance expedient responses with good judgement
- Overview to assess the requests/needs of a specific client with the big picture (i.e. needs of all clients as well as the company) and make decisions accordingly
- High standards of detail and self-review to ensure accurate communication
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook programs
- Must be able to quickly learn new software programs custom to Studio client support (e.g. Planon, Xytech MediaPulse)
