Your Role
Warner Bros. Studio Operations is looking for a Manager, Special Events to support the Warner Bros. Special Events department. This position will oversee the day-to-day management of department staff and produce flagship events. We are looking for a high-judgement, self-motivated, and innovative Event Manager who will manage the ideation, development, and implementation of internal and 3rd party events that inspire and create memorable experiences. In this position you will generate, execute and review client proposals (both internal and 3rd party), manage all event food and beverage, event rentals, staffing, event design, entertainment, security and parking logistics. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 years of experience in event production and internal team management. You are energetic and confident and will lead your teammates to grow, achieve and be positive. This position reports to the Director of Special Events to support, develop, and execute the business plan and long-term strategies for all event operations.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Lead coordination for all assigned events through event, install and strike; including assisting with setting up chairs, tables, etc.
- Management of food and beverage, create event layouts/ diagrams, menu collaboration with Executive Chef.
- Create and place rental and staffing orders, manage internal/external vendors, supervise temporary event staff.
- Prepare event production collateral and manage project timelines including production schedules.
- Review event production collateral generated by Specialist, Event Coordinators and Event Assistant.
- Create weekly schedules for Event Specialist, Event Coordinators and Event Assistant.
- Train, supervise, and coordinate internal and external event staff to ensure a smooth execution of events, providing coaching and feedback for continuous team improvement.
- Select rental equipment and beverage purchases for event department
- Purchases liquor, disposables, and general supplies for event department
- Build revenue generating proposals for clients.
- Procure and process all client event payments inclusive of deposits.
- Complete and submit cost sheets, tip sheets, submit pre-event quotes and post event invoices.
- Manage and reconcile event budgets post-event ensuring alignment with department profit goals.
- Review proposals generated by Event Specialist, Event Coordinators and Event Assistant.
- Review all event vendors purchases by Event Specialist and Event Coordinators.
- Support Director, Special Events in reviewing staffing assignments, event calendars, office inventory and department staff needs.
- Set staff objectives and report on accountabilities and key performance indicators.
- Complete timely performance reviews given to Event Specialist, Event Coordinators, Event Assistant and Steward.
- Perform quarterly business reviews of vendor performance.
- Actively engage in weekly team meetings, report on portfolio of events, and prepare post-event reports.
- Lead client site visits, respond to phone, email, and website inquiries, requests for information.
- Foster an inclusive team culture encouraging a professional, supportive, rewarding and innovative team dynamic.
- Look for opportunities to seek out relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts to create growth opportunities for department revenue.
- Stay current, and often ahead of trends, in design, tech, production, film and television.
- Lead and support internal staff training.
Experience & Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in an Event Manager role or equivalent managing/producing events with food & beverage, lighting design, audio, event design, and logistics
- BA Degree preferred
- 4 years of experience in a team management role, providing direct supervision of team members including scheduling, day-to-day activities and career goals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Successfully managed client relationships on a day-to-day basis
- Accustomed to working in an organized, detail oriented and methodical fashion
- Generates proposals and budgets up to $500K
- Self-motivated individual with ability to work and lead within team environment.
- Proactive, self-starter that requires few reminders to manage and communicate their requests and responsibilities.
- Comfortable providing feedback and or having difficult conversations.
- Able to anticipate potential problems, and when to ask for help.
- Confident and able to express ideas and point of view thoughtfully.
- Meticulous about the details, completes tasks and follows up.
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under deadlines and pressure.
- Able to pivot and adapt to shifting priorities without missing a beat.
- An energetic and positive thinker that contributes to the team.
- Bandwidth to manage administrative duties and events.
- A great communicator - via email, by phone and in person.
- Comfortable, professional and personable working with high-level talent and executives.
- Working knowledge of Xytech, ALL Seated preferred.
- Flexible to work long hours, some weekends, and holidays as needed.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $70,700.00 - $131,300.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
