Your New Role:
The Manager of Network Operations is responsible for overseeing the tier 2 operations of the network systems, including hardware, software, and communication links. This role entails leading a team of tier 2 network operators to ensure the optimal performance, stability, and security of the organization's networking infrastructure.
Your Role Accountabilities:
OPERATIONS/PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Network Operations Management (40%) - Oversee the monitoring and support of network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless, data circuits, DNS and DHCP.
- Team Leadership and Development (30%) - Manage the network operations team, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Develop and maintain training materials for network operations staff and conduct ongoing training sessions. Ensure team is up-to-date with the latest network technologies and practices.
- Strategic Planning and Project Management (20%) - Contribute to the development of networking operations strategy and processes. Oversee and prioritize operational projects; manage and report on project timelines and outcomes. Develop and manage budgetary allocations for network operations.
- Compliance and Security (10%) - Regularly review and analyze network performance and the adequacy of existing technologies, making recommendations for improvements. Implement and monitor policies for the use of network resources.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications & Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Master's degree or MBA is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in network operations or a similar role.
- At least 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience in a network operations center (NOC).
- Extensive experience with network design and implementation processes.
- Experience in managing large and complex networking environments.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Hours of work will be 10am to 6pm weekdays local time
- Minimal travel anticipated for this position
- Must have the legal right to work in Mexico
