Your New Role...
Part of the EMEA Growth & Partner Marketing team, this role will play a key part in helping the team drive subscriber growth and revenues across our streaming services HBO Max . This leadership role is responsible for leading efforts to define the strategy for our subscriber acquisition across the EMEA region. This role is crucial to delivering against our growth targets and will be responsible for managing the overall marketing budget, delivering the gross adds forecast, working with the local EMEA marketing teams to collaborate campaign planning as well as campaign or title investment. You will be accountable for our media acquisition strategy and coordinating the media planning process to deliver on our gross adds, Blended SAC (as % of lifetime value), ROAS and revenue targets. Alongside this, your role is also to ensure we have the right creative and biddable campaigns to deliver the maximum return for digital spend.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about television, movies, entertainment, and digital marketing. They will have a strong understanding of D2C marketing and will be comfortable with data analytics, financial models, budgeting processes and an eye for digital creative. This candidate will lead a team that believes in working fast, being accountable, collaborative, and learning from mistakes. The role is highly cross functional and will require collaboration with a large number of teams on a global level including Data Science, Finance, In-house Media Buying, Creative and Go to market teams.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Lead Growth Media and Creative Strategy (team of 6) to drive subscriber growth and maximise revenues by delivering a comprehensive full funnel paid media and creative strategy across streaming for EMEA
- Manage the marketing budget across EMEA markets, coordinating with Global counterparts, defining a clear and rigorous budgeting process
- Own the EMEA streaming sales forecasts for HBO Max, collaborating with EMEA Growth planning & strategy, data science and content teams to define gross adds targets at a title and campaign level
- Responsible for planning the media investment levels across the region through media mix modeling, allocating budget based on media efficiency and incrementality at title, funnel and channel level
- Accountable for the EMEA full funnel media strategy, working with the in-house media investment team on digital performance and planning and collaborating with the regional go-to-market teams for offline and local inventory performance and planning
- Drive data-driven decisioning across the EMEA marketing team through evidence-based evaluation of marketing campaigns and initiatives with a focus on return on ad spend and cost per incremental gross adds KPIs
- Lead creative strategy specialists who plan and brief creative for all upper and lower funnel digital campaigns working closely with internal creative agency including DCO and ad trafficking team
- Maintain a creative testing and optimisation plan to maximise the impact of creative whilst also pushing the boundaries of dynamic creative optimisation can offer
- Interface with global acquisition & growth strategy teams on one hand and regional / local marketing teams on the other hand to ensure a balance between global priorities and local representation
Qualifications & Experience...
- Self-starter with 10+ years paid media strategy experience who is both a creative and analytical thinker to drive subscriber growth
- Strong financial acumen in order to evaluate the efficiency of marketing initiatives and support the overall corporate financial objectives
- Prior experiences leading media strategy within fast-paced, direct to consumer, subscription environments that deliver results
- Proven ability to manage significant budgets at scale and prioritise investment based on the commercial and financial context
- Strong relationship management with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Experience working in a multinational organisation and within a complex global matrix environment
- Experienced people manager with a track record for driving successful team sentiment and mentoring junior team members
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
