Your New Role...
As a Contract Analyst at Warner Bros. Discovery you will be responsible for administering and reviewing licensing agreements across systems and files supporting the EMEA content acquisitions process. You will work closely with the EMEA Programming and Acquisitions team supporting Max EMEA and HBO Europe. This will include various rights related tasks such as drafting and reviewing amendments, creating and maintaining contract overviews and spreadsheets and analyzing complex rights flows.
As Contract Analyst, you will work with content rights management and be key contact for our content rights across our territories with a key focus on contract administration.
You will report to the Director of Rights and Administration and work closely with the Acquisitions team as well as the entire Programming Team, legal, finance and other stakeholders.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Lead the contracts administration and ensure all stakeholders are supported in queries regarding content rights.
- Draft amendments to agreements according to templates (for example relicense amendments).
- Support the acquisitions and legal team in the drafting process across EMEA, including proof reading, double checking and aligning across deals and templates.
- Ensure the agreements folder structure is well maintained and organized.
- Follow up with internal and 3rd party licensors on license start dates and availability dates and provide relevant updates to teams.
- Support rights checking both internally and externally, and handle/answer rights queries of various kinds from internal teams.
- Maintain the agreements tracker in collaboration with Acquisitions and Legal.
- Create and maintain several rights and content overviews , including regularly updating deal summaries.
- Support overall admin team with rights entry/invoice reconciliation/budget entry/cost analysis and other tasks as needed.
- Other ad hoc tasks and periodic projects will be a part of the responsibilities of this role.
Qualifications & Experience...
- Experience in paralegal work, ideally within the media industry.
- Experience in an Administration and/or legal focussed role
- Broadcasting/TV/media experience
- Excellent in Excel
- Preferred experience working with a content rights management system
- Fluent in English - both in writing and speaking (all correspondence will be in in English)
- Knowledge of TV/SVOD rights
