Warner Bros. Games Boston is a Warner Bros. Games development studio focused on creating free-to-play games for mobile platforms. The studio is utilizing its extensive expertise in creating persistent online worlds that foster powerful social gaming communities to develop its hit mobile game, Game of Thrones: Conquest.
WB Games Boston is seeking an Associate Software Engineer with experience in mobile free-to-play games. As a mobile specialist, this person will focus on mobile TRCs (Technical Requirements Checklists), platform specific support including building support for assets, and device performance. The ideal candidate is hard-working, hands-on, self-motivated, process-driven, and customer-oriented. This individual has a passion for developing highly performant code and has a true passion for games. Your new role is vital to set the team up for success in creating a game that could become a leader in AAA free-to-play experiences.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Develop and implement production code to meet console Technical Requirement Checklists (TRCs)
- Platform specific support including building support for assets, memory management, etc.
- Profile & improve device performance on mobile platforms
- Consultation with the team regarding technical advice, constraints, and optimal solutions for mobile platforms
- Document implemented features, systems and new approaches
- Work with engineering team and QA to identify issues and fix them
Qualifications & Experience...
- Bachelor of Science in Game Engineering or equivalent work experience
- C# (1 year minimum)
- Experience working on a game project, either as a student or on personal time
- Experience working with a game engine (Unity or Unreal 4/5 preferable, others acceptable)
- Comfortable and practiced with coding tools, such as source control (Git preferred), debugger, scripting languages
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and comfort collaborating with others
- A self-motivated work process and excellent communication skills
- Seek out opportunities to improve technically and professionally
- A passion for video games
- Interest and ability to learn other programming languages as needed a plus
