Your New Role...

We are looking for an Acquisitions Manager who will lead ongoing and future content acquisitions for Warner Bros. Discovery/HBO Max, with a primary focus on the UK & Ireland.
The role involves negotiating with major studios, European and local independents, in alignment with the division within the team. You will play a crucial part in monitoring and fulfilling any European or local investment obligations related to acquisitions, as needed. Additionally, you will collaborate on pan-European deals and discussions with the broader EMEA Streaming Acquisition team.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Drive and execute Acquisition of content, both current and library for HBO Max UK&I. Drive discussion per team account division for pan-EMEA rights and other projects.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with licensors (volume, license fees, rights etc.) with respect to budget and legal requirements for HBO Max.
  • Preparation/distribution of documentation, both internal and external: set up various approval materials, proposals, deal memos and contracts, and follow the process through to the securing of signatures.
  • Coordination across teams and regions within the Acquisitions and Programming team with regards to opportunities, rights alignment, benchmarking, communication etc ensuring best practices and service coherence across EMEA.
  • As part of a dedicated Programming and Acquisitions team there will also be other ad-hoc tasks and periodic projects where support is required and expected.

  • Extensive working experience in a similar position required.
  • Relevant experience of rights acquisition for multi-territory rights within the media/broadcast/TV and content industry, including a deep understanding of Rights, Legal requirements and SVOD service needs.
  • Well versed in negotiation, drafting and finalization of agreements, setting up spreadsheets and overviews in various formats, calculating benchmarks, business rationale and financial impact.
  • Ability to multitask across a wide range of different projects, and an agile attitude in quickly moving company.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced result driven environment.

Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
