What you'll do...

The Senior Manager of Data Governance will lead and oversee Sourcing's data governance strategy, ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance across all business units. This role is responsible for implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards that align with the company's strategic objectives. The Senior Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to promote data stewardship, enforce data governance practices, and drive the adoption of data governance tools and methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data management principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

About the team:

The Data Governance team is dedicated to ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of the organization's data assets. Composed of experienced data professionals, the team develops and enforces data governance policies, standards, and best practices to support Sourcing's strategic goals. We work collaboratively with various departments to promote data stewardship, manage data quality, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Our mission is to create a data-driven culture where data is trusted, well-managed, and used effectively to drive business insights and decision-making. The team is committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and fostering a culture of accountability and transparency in data management practices.

What you'll do:

Data Source Identification

· Lead the identification and evaluation of data sources to ensure they meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and priorities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

· Conduct initial data quality checks to validate the integrity and reliability of data sources.

Data Strategy

· Develop and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and standards that align with the organization's strategic goals.

· Articulate and apply data strategy principles to address complex business problems and drive data-driven decision-making.

· Ensure the data strategy supports the unlocking of monetary value from data assets and aligns with regulatory and compliance requirements.

Tech Problem Formulation

· Translate business problems into data-related or mathematical solutions, identifying appropriate methods and tools to address these challenges.

· Provide thought leadership on the application of analytics, big data technologies, and automation techniques to solve business problems.

· Share use cases and best practices to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed solutions.

Program Management

· Oversee and deliver large-scale data and analytics programs, ensuring alignment with business goals, milestones, and requirements.

Exploratory analysis and Data Visualization

· Recommend and implement advanced data visualization tools and techniques to effectively communicate data insights.

· Work with stakeholders to design appropriate data representations for complex datasets, ensuring clarity and usability.

· Build compelling visual stories that integrate multiple pieces of information to provide cohesive insights and drive decision-making.

Data Quality Management

· Promote and educate the organization on data quality management techniques and the importance of data governance.

· Develop and enforce data quality standards, frameworks, and metrics to continuously measure and monitor data quality.

· Manage data quality issues, leading data cleansing activities and ensuring compliance with data governance policies.

Understanding Business Context

· Evaluate and translate business requirements into data governance strategies, initiatives, and projects.

· Build and articulate business cases for data governance projects, demonstrating their return on investment and value to the organization.

· Mentor team members on understanding business contexts and aligning data governance practices with business objectives.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 3: 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
1 year's supervisory experience.
