The International Point-of-Sale team is instrumental in realizing this vision, as we build critical user journeys and services that power the customer checkout experience across physical stores (Walmart, Sam's Club, and other market specific brands) across Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Central American markets, including varying front-end checkout options such as staffed lane checkout, self-checkout, mobile checkout solutions, and shrink prevention solutions at checkout and store exit.

About the role

The Principal Product Manager in Point-of-Sale Operations is responsible for defining the end-to-end self-checkout experience for customers, driving adoption, and reducing friction points for customers and associate alike. As part of the Walmart Global Tech family, you will have a wealth of cutting-edge technology solutions to leverage from, while devising new innovative solutions for each international market with unique customer needs.

Technical competencies

  • Drives customer and associate satisfaction by understanding and meeting their needs.
  • Develops product vision and strategy, including identifying customer problems and exploring new value creation opportunities.
  • Creates and manages product roadmap, collaborating with stakeholders and navigating organizational constraints.
  • Utilizes data analytics to make informed product decisions and supports data collection and evaluation.
  • Builds consensus and communicates effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrates technology orientation, including understanding InfoSec policies, driving technology design outcomes, and assessing feasibility and risks.
  • Possesses in-depth domain expertise and identifies innovation opportunities within the industry.

  • You have knowledge in retail tech, and omnichannel shopping experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferable.
  • 5-8 years' experience in product management, management consulting, retail, eCommerce business functions, or related fields.
  • Experience in identifying key metrics, conducting rigorous explorative data analysis, and in building business cases that drive decision making and business prioritization.
  • Data driven mindset with a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics.
  • Sound business judgment as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize.
  • Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 8 years' experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products, Supervisory experience, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
