The day-to-day

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to conceive, plan, and implement new features for creative tools.
  • Architect and implement solutions for interactive manipulation of images, video, and mixed media.
  • Develop clean, testable, maintainable, and idiomatic code, and drive the team forward in terms of code quality.
  • Deliver solutions either collaboratively with other engineers or independently, depending on project scope and schedule.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience working on mobile applications on iOS (Swift and/or Objective-C) to lead the development of new features and enhancements.
  • Experience owning projects end-to-end, from initial prototypes to customer rollout, ensuring a seamless user experience throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Professional experience working on mobile consumer applications at scale, leveraging your professional experience to deliver high-performance, reliable software.
  • Cross-functional experience collaborating closely with designers and product managers to translate product requirements into technical solutions that meet user needs.
  • Experience utilizing media manipulation frameworks on iOS such as AVFoundation, Core Image/Video/Audio, and Metal to implement multimedia features and enhancements.
  • Experience collaborating with other engineers, including iOS, Android, server, and web developers, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability across platforms.
  • Experience implementing feature flagging and release management best practices to facilitate controlled feature rollouts and minimize risks.
  • Ability to utilize observability tools such as Datadog and Crashlytics to monitor and optimize app performance and reliability.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with OpenGL, 3D rendering, and matrix-based transformations.
  • Proficiency in writing C++.
  • Experience with Flutter and/or React Native.
  • Understanding of 3D rendering and matrix-based transformations.
  • Experience integrating third-party tools for media manipulation.
  • Familiarity with Android to facilitate cross-platform design discussions.

Compensation

The base salary for this position may vary based on several factors, including the approved job level. The base salary range for this role is $190,000 - $210,000. Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for equity (i.e. stock options) and is eligible for discretionary bonuses based on performance. The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, short and long term disability), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks contained in our standard employee benefits package are also offered for this position.
