The North America Consulting Practice within VCA provides consulting and solution services for Visa’s clients in North America. We apply deep expertise in the payments industry to provide solutions to assist clients with their key business priorities, drive growth and improve profitability. The VCA team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services to deliver solutions that address unique challenges in areas such as improving profitability, strategic growth, customer experience, digital payments and managing risk.

The VP will play a leadership role on a team of experienced strategic consulting professionals developing and delivering high impact projects for Visa’s Community FI partners. In addition, the VP will drive distribution of VCA’s consulting assets and data solutions through strategic channels such as General Service Providers and Processors.  The VP will be responsible for managing delivery against a collective investment fund specifically designed for Community Issuers. Potential engagements could include market expansion, revenue uplift, segmentation, portfolio management diagnostics, authorization optimization strategies, assessments of digital product and marketing programs, development of new products with implementation roadmaps, and improving portfolio profitability.

We are looking for highly motivated, strategic, analytical individuals who will deliver thought leadership, problem diagnostics and high impact solutions to clients and to distribution partners. The incumbent must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships with clients and across the Visa organization.

The location is flexible for this role with a preference for the San Francisco area - Other potential locations are Washington DC, Wilmington, and Atlanta.

Responsibilities

  • Sell and deliver strategic, tactical,and data-driven advisory engagements to Community issuing clients, Processors, and strategic distribution partners (e.g. GSPs).
  • Manage a P&L for the Community and Processor segment including revenue projections and risks, team and vendor expense management, and management to a margin goal
  • Manage a robust pipeline of future engagements, including developing a winning pipeline mix of bespoke, scaled, and recurring revenue streams
  • Engage with Account Executives and other Visa Advisory Teams (e.g., Marketing) to sell and deliver client engagements
  • Collaborate with practice subject matter experts, data scientists, and account sales teams to help VCA develop and refine highly relevant new data solutions
  • Identify and develop strategic growth opportunities for the Community segment, including distribution channels, sales/campaign enhancements, and delivery mechanisms
  • Lead and deliver advisory engagements to clients through exceptional problem solving, data analysis, strategic recommendations, and executive storytelling
  • Be the primary executive face on advisory capabilities to Community FI clients in direct client forums/industry sessions and Visa’s internal North America leadership team 
  • Ensure tight alignment and coordination with the North American business goals, managing to scorecards on revenue growth, resource utilization, margin efficiency and broader culture/engagement goals
  • Build and retain a team of top talent that is diverse and inclusive
  • Provide inspiring leadership and management for the Community FI team and lead by example for the broader VCA NA organization, exemplifying Visa’s Leadership Principles

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience financial services

Preferred Qualifications:
• 15+ years of experience in financial services, particularly in payments and digital commerce, to enable nuanced and sophisticated interactions with senior executives
• B2B sales experience, ideally in selling strategic advisory or data solution engagements to clients in financial services
• Substantial problem solving ability with strategic focus on impacting ROI
• Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor and ability to work with large data sets to synthesize key impacts for clients
• Strong matrix collaborator with ability to put the client first in delivery
• Strong people manager with exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Significant applied experience running senior level client engagements, demonstrating excellence in communication, executive presence, thought leadership, strong client orientation, and general management savvy
• Deep understanding of payment issuing business models as well as industry fundamentals and emerging trends, ideally those relevant to community banks and credit unions
• Understanding of competitive global payment network business models and operations
• A natural optimist who brings energy and enthusiasm to the team and the work
• English fluency required
• Top tier MBA or equivalent qualification preferred

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 229,100.00 to 357,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
