Job Description

About the role
We are seeking a high-potential engineer with a passion for GenAI and applied innovation. This role involves integrating AI technologies into new or existing applications, developing APIs and backend logic, and occasionally building cross-platform interfaces using tools like Flutter or React. You’ll be part of a team driving real-world GenAI use cases and building rapid prototypes to accelerate business innovation.

You’ll play a key role within your cross functional team, taking responsibility for your services and the technology within them.
You'll get to work as the Staff Software Engineer in your squad, leading on discussions around technical direction and systems design, as well as mentoring more junior members of the team
Responsibilities
Maintain high standards in code quality, architectural documentation, and collaborative development
Design, development, and deployment of GenAI-powered agentic applications.
Architect and implement full-stack solutions, including RESTful APIs (Django / FastAPI / Flask) and frontends (React / Angular).
Integrate advanced LLMs and agent frameworks (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, LangChain etc) into scalable enterprise systems.
Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and vector database search (Postgres, Chroma).
Ensure robust prompt evaluation, hallucination detection, and model output validation.
Build secure connectors for diverse enterprise data sources (databases, OLAP cubes, Hive, MDX).
Deploy solutions on Azure Cloud, leveraging Azure OpenAI, App Services and Cognitive Search.
Integrate with Microsoft 365 platforms (Teams, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Power BI) and implement SSO, OAuth2, and enterprise authentication.
Oversee MLOps processes: model lifecycle management, automated testing, monitoring, and auditing using tools like MLflow or Azure ML.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, foster best practices in code quality, documentation, and team collaboration.
Stay current with advances in GenAI and contribute to technical strategy.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• 6+ years’ experience in software development, with at least 2+ years building GenAI/LLM applications.
• Deep expertise in Python and associated AI/ML frameworks.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend frameworks (React / Angular).
• Proven experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar) and vector databases.
• Solid understanding of cloud architectures (Azure preferred), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated experience integrating with enterprise data platforms and Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience in model evaluation and monitoring in production.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
Nice to Have
• Exposure to image and voice AI models; experience integrating audio/image inputs in GenAI apps.
• Familiarity with cloud functions, cost optimization, and scalable architecture.
• Contributions to open-source or GenAI communities.
