Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (multiple openings) in Highlands Ranch, CO to:

  • Be the initial escalation point for Service Desk Tier 1 for application issues
  • Perform routine application maintenance including host file updates, log rotation, and shell scripting for common tasks
  • Contribute information to project plans and meet stated deadlines
  • Maintain and update 3rd part applications (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Tomcat, WAS, etc.)
  • Monitor application performance (e.g., memory, logging, and latency)
  • Perform weekly code deployment to the production environment
  • Implement and maintain performance monitoring dashboards using Splunk, Thousand Eyes, Graphite, etc. Code release into CAS (test) and PROD working with production development
  • Support application deployment for new and existing services or features working with different Product Development and Engineering
  • Support customer support on merchant escalated issues specific to applications
  • Position reports to the Highlands Ranch, Colorado office and may allow for partial telecommuting

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a engineer-related occupation. 

Position requires experience in the following skills:

  • Shell scripting and programming knowledge
  • Linux Systems, Databases and Network concepts
  • Analyzing Java application logs on Linux or Unix
  • Splunk
  • Code deployment using Jenkins;
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Graphana
  • Developing product requirements analysis and design; and
  • Bridging design gaps between bare metal, hybrid infrastructure, and microservices

Worksite: Highlands Ranch, CO

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $130,686.00 USD to $188,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
