- Support critical applications and ensure the stability of the applications by performing proactive maintenance activities, engage in automation activities, do root cause analysis and remediation.
- Write and maintain scripts to monitor system activity including application smoke test activities during production implementations.
- Develop and maintain automation tools to handle all engineering and application support tasks.
- Engage in production issue troubleshooting bridge calls, provide immediate service restoration, follow up on root cause analysis, and ensure permanent fix is implemented to avoid similar problems in the future.
- Coordinate and execute application releases and production deployments.
- Responsible for managing the performance and tuning of several Visa applications.
- Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineer-related occupation.
- Position requires experience in the following skills:
- Web Services technologies REST & SOAP;
- Eclipse, IntelliJ or Visual Studio;
- Java, .Net, and J2EE;
- Spring and JDBC;
- Tomcat and/or WebSphere;
- Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP);
- Databases like MySQL, Cassandra or similar; and
- Monitoring tools like Splunk or Grafana.
Additional Information
Worksite: Austin, TX
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.
MentalaPhysical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $112,674.00 USD to $164,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
