Job Description

The Product Platform division of the consumer payments eco-system undergoing a transformation to promote the adoption of a more secure, simplified checkout experience. This is being achieved through the introduction of new product capabilities within the Click to Pay capabilities, which leverages Visa's tokenization and other features. To facilitate the onboarding of merchants and PSPs worldwide for various regional markets, Visa has partnered with multiple card schemes, adopting the EMVCo standard for Click To Pay as a solution.

The Senior Engineering Manager role requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or computer engineering, with an advanced degree preferred. The role requires 10+ years of experience, with at least 2 years in leading engineering teams.

Key responsibilities and requirements include:

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, highly available production software.

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • A deep understanding of end-to-end software development in a team, with a track record of shipping software on time.

  • Payment processing background is desirable but not required.

  • Experience working in an Agile and Test-Driven Development environment with strong business and technical vision.

  • Strong technology and leadership background building enterprise-scale applications using Java, Springboot, REST APIs, RDBMS, Angular/React, NoSQL, Kafka, and Hazelcast.

  • Responsibility for the overall development life cycle of the solution and management of complex products with significant bottom-line impact.

  • Ability to interact with remote and dependent teams to facilitate and drive product features.

  • Work with product managers to develop a strategy and roadmap to provide compelling capabilities that help them succeed in their business goals.

  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.

  • Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high quality work on tight schedules.

  • Project management skills: prioritization, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management, and tracking of external commitments.

  • Operational Excellence: monitoring & operation of production services.

  • Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards and processes.

  • Mentor junior team members, develop departmental procedures and best practices standards.

  • Hire and retain world-class talents to deliver click to pay product features.

  • Strong negotiation skills: You will be a distinguished ambassador for product development, collaborating, negotiating, managing tradeoffs, and evaluating opportunistic new ideas with business partners.

 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
•8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
•10 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 5 or more years of experience with a PhD
•Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. Advanced degree preferred
•Requires 10+ years of experience, at least 2+ yrs of which were in leading engineering teams
