Job Description

The Digital and Mobile Enablement Technology Organization in Issuing Solutions at Visa is looking for a talented full stack software developer to implement consumer facing digital and mobile products as we advance Visa’s Payment Digitization.The candidate will be responsible for design and implementation of both front end web technologies contribute to the back end and middleware of the platform . Must be able to coordinate and manage input from business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise and be responsible for the design and execution of large-scale technology initiatives. The role is a self-organized Senior Software Engineer with solid Javascript knowledge as well as working experience with Java and web service development.  In this position, you are first and foremost a passionate and talented developer that can work in a dynamic environment as a member of Agile Scrum teams.  Your strong technical leadership, problem solving abilities, coding, testing and debugging skills is just a start.  You must be dedicated to filling product backlog and delivering production-ready code in three to five week sprints.  You must be willing to go beyond the routine and prepared to do a little bit of everything. The successful candidate will be  working on cutting edge payment solutions, responsible for delivering high quality code.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in technical design of solution that is based on use cases and business requirements
• Complete proof of concepts and other technical evaluations of technologies, designs and solutions
• Engages dev leads and architects (both enterprise and domain) to ensure that overall Enterprise Architecture is inclusive of all stakeholder viewpoints and are vetted to ensure that artifacts supports, reflects, advances and integrates as intended.
• Ensures inclusion of Visa's business vision, current business environment (internally and externally) and technology and industry trends to enable results that drive Visa's business.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD Education/Experience
• BS degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or other related fields with a minimum of 3 years of experience Javascript, Java and web service development -OR- MS degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or other related fields.
• Experience with web services standards and related technologies: HTTP, Spring, Boot, XML, JSON, REST, WS*, Java 8, Java Microservices, JS, React, redux, hibernate
• Knowledge of Web development practices and commonly used modules based on work experience
• Experience in Object Oriented Design concepts
• Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design optimized for mobile platform
• Experience programming in Java, J2EE and web programming in JS
• Solid understanding of database technologies and SQL and JPA.
• Preferred Experience in payments integration and / or online ecommerce shopping and / or Payment gateways.
• Proven problem solving skills and an ability to respond resourcefully to new demands, priorities and challenges
• Strong dedication to test automation and Test Driven Development
• Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Ability to convey development concepts related to network, application, and systems - to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new initiatives.
• Proven ability to work and have fun in a team environment.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes or CI/CD
• Familiarity with Source Control & Build Tools, like Bitbucket, Jenkins etc.
