Job Description

As a Specialist Test Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal, hands-on role in building, maintaining, and improving test automation frameworks and suites across multiple teams. You’ll write and enhance automated tests—including for legacy code—and proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and fix test automation issues in existing systems. You will also collaborate with product engineering teams, providing technical expertise and guidance to uplift automation practices and ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for both new and legacy systems

  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve test failures and maintain test reliability across teams

  • Support and improve existing automation frameworks and processes

  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and architects to identify test gaps and improve testability

  • Mentor and train engineering teams in automation best practices

  • Contribute to architectural decisions and drive continuous improvement in quality and automation coverage

About You:

  • 8+ years’ experience in software development and test automation (C#/.NET preferred)

  • Strong background in building and maintaining test automation for web, API, and legacy systems

  • Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving test failures across complex systems

  • Experience with source control, CI/CD, and modern testing methodologies

  • Excellent problem-solving, mentoring, and communication skills

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be 5-days a fortnight and confirmed by your hiring manager. 

Qualifications

Experience or exposure to any of the below would be advantageous but is not necessarily required:

• 8-10+ years’ experience in a Software Development environment
• Proven automation experience in C# (or similar)
• Proven experience in mentoring and development
• Functional Testing experience
• .NET and .NET Core/Standard development in C#
• REST based Web API’s
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with enterprise scale multi-tenant Cloud/SaaS web environments
• Experience with source control (e.g., Git, Subversion) and continuous integration (e.g., TeamCity)
• Experience with DDD, TDD, SOLID principles
• Strong technical leadership experience at a senior level
• Building and running internal platforms with a Product Led mindset
• A broad knowledge of SDLC methodologies and the challenges of testing
• Experience with testing web services and APIs 
• Experience with SQL queries and relational databases
• Ability to build, maintain and grow functional and regression test automation suites, including automated testing of API and Web UI
• Experience with accessibility testing
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence
