Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) division’s charter is to capture new sources of money movement through card and non-card flows, including Visa Commercial Solutions, Government Solutions and Visa Direct which presents an enormous growth opportunity.

The Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) and Visa Spend Clarity team is a world-class technology organization experiencing tremendous, double-digit growth as we expand products into new payment flows and continue to grow our core card solutions. This is an incredibly exciting team to join as we expand globally.

As we embark on this journey, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering for the Visa Commercial Solutions group in Bangalore.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to a team of software engineers.

  • Play a crucial role in interfacing with business stakeholders to define solutions and requirements, prioritize, and drive execution using agile methodologies.  

  • Actively participate in Solution design, architecture and development of key initiatives.

  • Ensure developed solutions adhere to established architectural best patterns and target state. 

  • Drive selection of new technologies and influence architectural target state.

  • Foster the culture of Engineering Excellence, CI/CD, Automation and Shift-Left.

  • Work collaboratively across team boundaries to share common infrastructure and functional capabilities.  Drive productivity through engineering fundamentals and best practices.

  • Hire and manage top engineering talent, provide mentoring, coaching and guidance to your staff.

  • Create an engineering culture of creativity and innovation.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field, 10+ years of software industry work experience.
• Delivered complex projects where complexity is a function of a combination of these factors – domain knowledge, distributed architecture, technical stack, influencing and collaborating with multiple technology and business partners
• Technical hands-on experience and proficiency with Java, Experience working with frameworks like Spring, Spring boot, Angular/React, Test Automation Frameworks.
• Strong understanding of architecture patterns like Microservices and operational characteristics of highly available and scalable applications.
• Experience with containerization and Docker is a plus.
• Ability to recruit, grow, retain and lead high-caliber technical talent.
• Excellent knowledge of core engineering best practice and passion to implement these across his/her team.
• Longer-term strategic thinking and staying ahead of state-of-the-art curve mindset.
