Job Description

This Contract Senior Manager level role will report to the Sr. Director, Client Marketing and will be responsible for developing and executing holistic marketing plans to drive growth while strengthening the Visa brand. This role will support the development and expansion of our Marketing Consulting Practice (Visa Marketing Services) selling and executing engagements that help Visa’s clients (Issuers, Merchants, Acquirers, FinTech’s) strengthen their business through market research, media strategy, performance-based marketing and sponsorships. This position will collaborate with internal Visa teams such as: Product, Sales, Research, Legal and Marketing teams from other regions. Ability to navigate a matrix organization and excellent interpersonal skills are critical. The ideal candidate should be analytically savvy and should have a thorough knowledge of multi-channel marketing with emphasis on social, digital media, search and website management. Candidate should have experience managing creative and media agencies from initial strategy to execution. Primary Responsibilities 

  • Serve as primary point of contact and marketing expert for Canada Client Marketing on behalf of the clients’ business. 

  • Nurture and grow client relationship, establishing Canada Client Marketing as preferred marketing partner. 

  • Develop and manage annual marketing plans including revenue targets, budget, and monthly forecasting with the NA Marketing Services team. 

  • Participate in client meetings and quarterly business reviews, champion marketing services in shaping client program strategy. 

  • Lead sell-in and implementation of marketing services including research and insights, marketing strategy, creative development, execution, analysis, and sponsorships to help advance client marketing initiatives and business objectives. 

  • Collaborate across client, agency partners and Visa stakeholders (account executives, digital partnerships, product, sponsorships, operations, legal and compliance as well as NA Client Marketing Delivery) to ideate and launch innovative, high-impact marketing campaigns. 

  • Ideate, scope, pitch, negotiate, contract, and launch innovative marketing campaigns. 

  • Lead the measurement, analysis, and reporting of marketing program performance and its impact on business results, where applicable. 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

This role is an 18 month fixed term contract. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • 6-8 years progressively responsible business experience, with majority in marketing, or marketing consulting experience in the financial services or payments with a track record of delivering measurable business results.
  • Successful in operating in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organizations.
  • Strong executive presence - excellent written and verbal communication skills, Proficient on all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Accomplished in B2B2C and B2C marketing strategy and working cross-functionally to implement and execute, with particular emphasis on creating first or new to market strategies.
  • Experience bringing new ideas to market, creating innovative marketing strategies new to the business, navigating across highly matrixed organizations to secure approvals and build the go-to-market roadmap to enable execution.
  • Skilled in crafting, pitching, and selling new, innovation ideas to executive leadership and clients.
  • Manage agency partners to execute integrated marketing programs and communications, on behalf of the client.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor applied to a wide variety of marketing problems.
  • Prior understanding of payment landscape in Canada and relevant Visa product offerings from major Visa Clients (Issuers, FinTech’s, Merchant and Acquirers).
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility with cross functional stakeholders without direct authority.
