The Opportunity: 

As a Sr. Engineering Manager, you will lead a world-class team of Engineers to define, drive and execute on a shared strategic vision for providing OpenBanking solutions in global markets. You will collaborate very closely with product and tech partners and leading 1-3 engineering teams to contribute to our mission of delivering innovative and high-quality services to our customers.
 

  • Full accountability for the overall delivery, performance and quality of the products in your area

  • Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution 

  • Work with product partners in developing road maps to provide compelling capabilities that helps them succeed in their business goals 

  • Work closely with architects and senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development 

  • Instill best practices for software development, and deliver high quality work on tight schedules 

  • Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards and processes 

  • Mentor & motivate junior team members.  

  • Resolve team conflicts and keep team focused on the VISION.  

  • Being data-driven and always seeking new ways of improving your services

    Reporting to Engineering Director, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in our organization and drive the success of our engineering teams. If you are a motivated and experienced leader, we would love to hear from you.

    This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

     

    Qualifications: We're looking for a talented and driven Senior Engineering Manager who can lead and inspire teams. The ideal candidate is proactive and willing to get involved hands-on whenever necessary. We believe this person has extensive experience in management and leading cross-functional teams. We expect you to be able to set priorities and provide direction, build relationships with stakeholders, and support the growth and development of their team.


    We like you to have:

    • Experience in management roles, leading senior engineers or other managers, or being in a similar role where “leading at scale” was required

    • A strong technical background with a degree in engineering or similar. Before moving into leadership, you have several years’ experience as a backend engineer

    • Experience building a scalable, high-volume platform and collaboratively setting the architectural direction with senior engineers

    • Experience with setting high expectations for your teams, and having coached, grown, and mentored them to reach their goals

    • Solid experience working in an agile development environment

    • Experience building a business-oriented area and a learning organization

    • Experience from working with customer-facing products where operational excellence and high uptime is a requirement

    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills

    • Fluency in English

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:
    8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience

    A strong technical background with a degree in engineering or similar. Before moving into leadership, you have several years’ experience as a backend engineer
