Job Description

As a Payroll Tax Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance and accuracy within the organization’s payroll tax functions. Key responsibilities include investigating and promptly responding to tax authority inquiries and notices, collaborating with payroll providers to guarantee timely and accurate tax deposits and filings, and preparing 941 stock estimated deposits using ADP Smart Compliance. You will oversee company registrations with state and local tax agencies, ensuring all entities are properly set up for payroll tax reporting within the payroll system.

Essential Functions

Your duties will also involve daily resolution of employee tax questions, partnering with HR Operations and other internal teams to streamline processes and facilitate swift issue resolution. You will process W-2 corrections (W2-c’s), monitor amendment workflows, and support the bi-weekly payroll tax audit process by resolving errors and maintaining compliance. Additional tasks include managing updates to state W-4 forms, supporting various payroll tax projects, and assisting with other payroll-related duties as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • 2-3 years payroll tax experience required
  • Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and laws (Required).
  • Payroll experience with large multi-state employer.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required).
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required).
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as MS Word and Excel Intermediate to advanced skills required.
  • Previous experience working with outsourced payroll providers.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 92,300.00 to 130,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
