Team Summary

Innovation and Commercialisation, part of Visa’s product and solutions division, is at the heart of delivering our mission. We partner with a range of people and teams – from product, innovation, design, and architecture to consulting, sales, and account management. All working together to bring a One Visa approach to how we design, develop, and deliver innovative payment solutions with our clients and partners in Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific.

We are looking for a passionate strategic designer to join our team who is a customer experience and design advocate and sees the big picture goals to bring together customer, business, and technical components into meaningful solutions.  

What a User Experience Designer does at Visa:

This role is an integral member of our Innovation and Commercialisation team which forms part of Visa’s Product function.

You will plan, shape, drive, and collaborate with different client and internal stakeholder groups to co-create and progress our innovation projects and product solution design activities. You'll personally be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to develop narratives and user journeys that will be used to build new capabilities and bring new solutions to the Australian and New Zealand market.

Success will come through inspiring Visa’s clients to champion, commit and integrate new to market capabilities into their own financial services products. You'll be involved in the early stages of research, ideation, storytelling, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams through the iteration and implementation process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to scope, design, concept test and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Translate insights into compelling stories that create consensus and motivate action.
  • Design storyboards, wireframes, interactive prototypes and concepts to communicate visually.
  • Present narratives and customer journeys to Senior Leadership and external partners.
  • Use Gen-AI tools and methods to respond and iterate based on client needs.
  • Work across product managers and account management teams to ensure concepts deliver strategic and commercial value in line with Visa goals.
  • Bring human centered design to the rest of the Visa business through facilitation and collaboration.
  • Delivering product changes to market in a timely manner, leading local Visa product development and managing delivery through rules and waiver processes.
  • Conceptualise and use research methodologies that solve challenges and uncover customer behaviours, pain points, needs and aspirations.
  • Conduct relevant research to validate opportunity spaces and identify client segment needs, trends, gaps, and overlaps.

Projects you will be a part of:

  • Client delivery that is used to shape their payment strategy and new product development.
  • Localisation and commercialisation of Visa’s globally developed capabilities and services
  • Development of market narratives that bind multiple capabilities and products into a cohesive user experience journey.
  • Leading Strategic Priorities relating to the growth of Visa’s consumer portfolios.
  • Leading the development and go to market approach for new products and capabilities.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 3-5 years in a UX and narrative design related role.
  • Translate research insights into compelling stories that create consensus and motivate action.
  • Experience using design tools such as Figma and creating presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Use divergent thinking techniques to develop compelling products, services and propositions with clients, testing with customers throughout.
  • Bring human centered design to the rest of the Visa business through facilitation and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt communication styles to varying audiences (including clients and executive stakeholders).
  • The ability to analyse data, identify trends and construct thought provoking, actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive initiatives forward.
  • Actively promote an environment of inclusion and diversity.


What will also help:

  • Financial Services industry knowledge with product management experience.
  • Proficient use of AI tools and services to deliver no-code prototypes, user journeys and concept videos.
  • Demonstrate energy and positive response when tackling challenging problems and view complicated tasks as engaging or motivating.
  • An innovative mindset that is focused on applying first principal methodology to challenges or issues.
