Team Summary

The Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) team is a world-class commercial organization experiencing tremendous double-digit growth as we expand into new payment flows and continue to grow our core card solutions. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our team as we are expanding to bring payment solutions and associated services to clients around the globe.  Our global clients and partners deploy our solutions to serve the needs of Small Businesses, Middle Market Clients, Large Corporate Clients and Governments.  We work closely with Financial Institutions, Issuers, Merchants, Fintech and other ecosystem players to deliver these services.  We believe that the market is at an inflection point whereby Visa can play a larger role in building and delivering solutions around the world.  Our focus within Commercial Solutions is to identify needs, assess opportunities and options and quickly act upon our vision while ensuring strong execution.

What a Manager, Small Business (SB) Asia Pacific does at Visa

  • Support Strategic Business Initiatives:
    • Affluent Strategy Development: Spearhead the ongoing development and refinement of strategies targeting affluent customer segments, focusing on creating tailored products and services that address the unique needs of high-net-worth business owners.
    • Cross-Border Initiatives in Asia-Pacific: Oversee the planning and execution of cross-border initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to expand market presence, build strategic partnerships, and enhance operational efficiencies in key markets.
    • Multi-Year Planning and Small Business Big Bets: Lead the multi-year strategic planning process to identify and capitalize on major growth opportunities ("Big Bets") that can significantly impact the organization's long-term success and market leadership.
  • Support for Research and Development:
    • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to evaluate the Total Addressable Market (TAM), Serviceable Available Market (SAM), and Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) for potential new fields, providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and account planning.
    • Narrative Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling narratives and strategies for products and new solutions ensuring alignment with business objectives and market needs.
    • Sales and Business Development Assets: Regularly update and enhance existing sales and business pitch materials to ensure they effectively communicate value propositions and resonate with prospective clients and partners.
  • Portfolio Management:
    • Content Management for SMB Platforms: Manage and update content for the SMB Visa.com landing page and Compass portal, including quarterly updates, monthly newsletters, success story announcements, and the sharing of industry best practices to engage and inform stakeholders.
    • Pipeline Management: Oversee the management of the sales and project pipeline, implementing strategies to optimize lead generation, progression, and conversion, ultimately driving business growth and success.
    • Program Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze the performance of newly launched programs and initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations to improve outcomes and achieve strategic objectives.

  • Creating new payment experiences and flows
  • Working with Visa teams in other parts of the world

 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

 

Qualifications

What you will need

  • To excel in this role, you will need a strong background in strategic planning with a proven track record of leading initiatives that drive purposeful change and support business growth. A deep understanding of the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment is essential, as is the ability to conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify sustainable opportunities. You should possess excellent project management skills, enabling you to manage complex projects from conception to execution while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong communication and leadership skills are crucial, as you will be responsible for crafting and delivering compelling narratives that align with sustainability goals and resonate with diverse stakeholders.
  • 8 or more years of strategy, product development, management and launching new products as well as business development.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally to Visa and be an ambassador for Small Business
  • Have worked in top-tier financial institutions, consulting firms, payment networks or financial services firms where you have developed strategies, worked on execution plans.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and create project teams to assist in the execution and implementation of new products or services (Marketing, Sales, Operation, internal and external stakeholders).
  • The ability to translate analytics, research, and client as well as small business needs into actionable plans and deliverables.
  • An interest in the future of payments and the change being driven by regulation.

 

What will also help?

  • Solid understanding of the payment industry and domestic and cross border payment flows
  • Knowledge of new developments in the payments industry, challenges therein, industry participants, regulatory changes, key market participants and have a view of the future of the payments ecosystem.
  • A high level of energy and desire to educate both customers and internal colleagues on the capabilities and benefits of technical, financial products, by making complex solutions understandable and engaging for your audience.
