Visa now seeks a new Head of Seller Side Partners and Sales for Germany to lead this change on the seller side and drive dynamic growth in the market.

As a key member of the Germany Country Leadership team, the Head of Seller Side Partners and Sales will bring leadership, vision and creativity to expanding acceptance and partnering with merchants and acquirers to drive usage of Visa solutions across the seller ecosystem in Germany.
Reporting into the Country Manager Germany, this role will lead the Acquiring, Merchant and Enablement teams in Germany and, working in tandem with internal partners, identify and cultivate growth opportunities across all three strategic pillars. The incumbent will engage with senior representatives of priority merchants and acquiring partners and operationalize as well as oversee the execution of Visa’s Strategy 2030 and related business plans in order to deliver sustainable revenue growth and maximize growth trajectories.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Partner with merchants, acquirers and enablers – define strategy for and oversee development of strong merchant and acquiring client relationships. Build direct relationships with targeted merchants defined to establish ‘Visa preference’. Identify and secure new business as a result. Own and oversee the strategic relationships with the large banking groups. Build and maintain a diverse set of relationships with key players in these organizations. Provide thought leadership to drive innovation, engagement and ultimately usage of Visa products across a growing range of topics
▪ Identify and deliver on strategic opportunities for cross-ecosystem collaboration in Germany that drive fundamental innovation on both sides of the ecosystem and accelerate revenue growth. Own the seller-side and cross-ecosystem aspects of Visa’s Strategy 2030 and turn these into tangible successes for the German market
▪ Deliver on strategic imperatives, revenue diversification and sales goals as well as client revenue, satisfaction, profitability and other scorecard goals, for your clients and the German market. While doing this, identify and deliver on synergies within the team and beyond to lift efficiencies and drive impact. Leverage new Visa sales approaches like Digital Sales to accelerate deployment and time to revenue. Drive teams to create a high value pipeline for new business and upsells
▪ Build and develop the team. Provide inspirational and energizing leadership to a high-performing team that has a deep understanding of its merchants, acquirers and industries, delivers against Visa and client objectives and drives client satisfaction.
▪ Drive positive merchant and acquiring outcomes – establish fluency in all Visa seller-side solutions, consultatively identify and prioritize merchant and acquiring needs and crafting customized solutions that drive specific commercial metrics (e.g., merchant business growth, Visa growth) and increase revenues for Visa as well as client satisfaction with Visa products/ services.
▪ Work with cross-functional partners to ensure we have what we need to be successful with our clients: Proactively collaborate closely with experts and peers throughout Visa for the benefit of your client and your team. Ensure common understanding of client specifics, goals and strategies through well-maintained account plans and strategies. Proactively resolve misalignment on approach, priorities and goals to drive efficiencies.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
- 15+ years in financial/payment services or related industries, with a strong digital and innovation edge
- Experience of working in a multi-national, diverse and highly-matrixed organization with the ability to make an impact and gain immediate respect and credibility.
- Sales lead and client champion who knows how to spark interest, create demand, bring together solutions from a diverse team of experts, and craft winning deals for clients that drive solid results for Visa.
- Proven track record in deploying complex strategies and in delivering on aggressive sales targets with creative solutions, strong client-focus and a highly-motivated team.
- Expert in building, leading and energizing high-performing teams within global matrix organizations. Foster collaboration, set clear goals, and support team success. Lead, inspire and coach teams for ongoing success, strong results and continuous development
- Skilled in managing large client relationships, expanding portfolios, and negotiating complex deals and tailored solutions to secure long-term partnerships.
- Track record of building alliances and partnerships, leveraging networks to enhance business relationships and expand market reach. Awareness of and flexibility to converse effectively in diverse, often political client organisations, hierarchies and decision-making processes
- Degree-level qualification, MBA preferred. Solid foundation in business principles and advanced management techniques.
- Strong decision-making and analytical abilities, commanding financial, market, and consumer data to inform strategic decisions and optimize performance.
- Fluency in German and English; additional languages advantageous.
