Job Description

Currencycloud was acquired by Visa in December 2021. Our Full Stack Javascript Engineers are responsible for working on our frontend UI applications, integrating with industry-leading API that have already processed over 50 billion USD of cross-border transactions for over 5 million end users, and is available to our clients 24x7. We’re building an entirely new platform to allow our customers deeper access to their data and modernise how they send money cross boarders at a greater scale. 

Our stack runs on AWS as a set of distributed applications using Kubernetes and a microservice-led architecture. Our Frontends are build using NextJS and Nova, part of the Visa Product Design System.

 

The Opportunity: 

We are looking for versatile, curious, and energetic Full Stack JavaScript Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions. 

 

The Work itself: 

  • Work on a greenfield project build from scratch on NextJS
  • Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings 
  • Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads 
  • Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions. 
  • Build our in-house design component library allowing other teams to more effectively produce applications in-line with our Visa design
  • Opportunities to make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge and asks questions about project requirements.
  • Reviews and asks questions about solution strategies that improve the design and functionality of a payment product feature.
  • Applies standard processes on the use of front-end programming languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript) to write code that fulfils website modification requests and technical requirements, under close guidance.
  • Works under close guidance from others to support the piloting of new technology capabilities and features that enhance the user website experience across e-commerce products.
  • Identifies and advances bugs that threaten website functionality
