The Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) team is looking for a senior-level consulting professional to join our consulting practice and play a key role driving the business development of the consulting practice in Panama and Costa Rica. This role bridges strategy and execution, client trust and team performance.

The role also requires strong business development skills combined with hands-on project oversight to ensure the successful delivery of complex consulting engagements from start to finish, including development and management of a sustainable consulting pipeline, including the identification, shaping, and sale of strategic engagements.

This is a hands-on leadership position in which its critical that the engagement leader gets involved in the execution of the engagements ensuring delivery meets clients’ expectations. The role also carries responsibility for managing key consulting performance metrics, including revenue growth, margins, utilization, client satisfaction, ensuring alignment between client outcomes and the consulting strategy.

Success in this role requires exceptional client relationship skills, building and maintaining long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders and serving as a strategic advisory and primary point of contract throughout the lifecycle of the engagement.

  • Primary owner of consulting business development, responsible for overseeing the delivery of the entire engagement, which may consist of multiple workstreams or projects.
  • Own and actively grow the consulting pipeline within assigned accounts or sectors.
  • Build strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Acts as the point of accountability to the client for value, outcomes, and satisfaction
  • Lead the definition and execution of engagements, scoping complex proposals and translating business goals into structured scopes and delivery approaches.
  • Resolves conflicts and ensure alignment between project execution and client’s expectations serving as an escalation point for delivery or staffing challenges.
  • Develop frameworks, approaches, solutions, and recommendations that address the most impactful opportunities and challenges.
  • Partner with peers in other functional areas (e.g., marketing, sales, risk, innovation) to implement projects in ways that maximize the breadth and depth of Visa’s resources.
  • Produce insights, analyses, and recommendations to improve client performance, boost growth, drive understanding of client issues and provide strategic guidance for client priorities.
  • Participate in the sales process to qualify opportunities and, using a consultative approach, guide clients to the correct engagement type to address their needs.
  • Oversee and mentor multi-disciplinary project teams. Set clear expectations, manage performance, and ensure accountability across engagements.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
•10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
•12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
•An educational background ideally in a quantitative field such as engineering, economics, computer science, business administration, or finance.
•Proven consulting experience, preferably gained within a consulting firm or an in-house strategy function of a financial institution.
•Extensive client-facing experience with proven ability to interact and present effectively to senior management.
•Demonstrated executive presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effective presentations and communication at all organizational levels.
•Proven leadership and managerial skills, especially in matrixed organizations, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members who are not direct reports.
•In depth knowledge of payment schemes, including products, processes, and cards lifecycle management.
•Highly collaborative with experience working with geographically distributed teams.
•Strong problem-solving skills, using data to manage risks and uncover improvement opportunities.
•Passionate, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
•Fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
•Primary owner of consulting business development, responsible for overseeing the delivery of full engagements, which may consist of multiple workstreams or projects.
