We’re looking for a candidate to join our VMS (VCA Managed Services) team in a technical management lead role. In your primary role as Director, you will provide leadership across three critical dimensions:

Agile & Lean Transformation:
Lead the adoption and evolution of agile and lean methodologies at scale, instilling a mindset of continuous learning and adaptability. Mentor and develop teams to embrace agile principles, cross-functional collaboration and organizational agility. Must act as a technical leader and manage small or large teams for client engagements. 
Organizational Delivery Excellence:
Architect and optimize delivery frameworks to proactively identify and eliminate impediments that impact scrum teams’ ability to deliver value. Establish and internalize best practices in delivery management and cross-functional partnerships to enhance productivity, accelerate time-to-market, and maximize customer impact.

Quality Enablement:
Ensure that engineering teams and business stakeholders are empowered with documentation, processes and institutional knowledge to deliver exceptional value to our customers and drive business outcomes. 
What we expect of you, day to day:
Provide oversight for successful delivery of complex, technical implementations, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Build and nurture strong partnerships with clients - both senior internal stakeholders and external partners — ensuring alignment of goals, mutual accountability, and long-term value creation.
Must be willing to technically hands on review and guide teams as necessary for a successful implementation.
Must be independently able to understand the technical and functional conversations with the client and internal teams and create basic workplans.
Decompose business and technical priorities into project roadmaps and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership & steering committees.
Establish and enforce best practices for capturing and refining functional and non-functional requirements at scale, ensuring teams are empowered to execute with clarity and deliver.
Set standards for technical and managerial reviews across multiple teams, proactively remove organizational impediments, and ensure seamless execution of deliverables.
Oversee the management of client expectations, scope change, and critical escalations. Serve as an executive for key accounts, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
Oversee the development and tracking of program/portfolio-level milestones & orchestrating cross-team collaboration to ensure on-time delivery.
Deliver recurring executive-level progress and status updates—including steerco and internal/external stakeholders on delivery, risks and mitigation plans.
Institute proactive risk identification and mitigation frameworks across programs, ensuring swift escalation and resolution of critical delivery issues.
Hold internal teams and external vendors accountable for performance, quality, and adherence to strategic plans, with robust governance and review mechanisms.
Oversee vendor resource utilization and capacity planning, ensuring optimal investment and value realization across the portfolio.
Guide, mentor and empower team members ensuring the right technical vision, architecture and practices are in place to enable high-performing teams.
Shape and scale agile delivery frameworks for business-critical initiatives, leading cross-functional ceremonies and driving continuous improvement in ways of working.
Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and innovation by coaching teams, challenging the status quo, and introducing best agile and delivery practices. 
This is a hybrid position. The expectation for in-office days will be communicated by your hiring manager.
 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12+ years of relevant work experience, or Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, MBA, JD, MD) with 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • Previous or current hands on experience on some of the following areas Java Programming, REST/API frameworks, Cloud Infrastructure, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and digital channel development (mobile/web)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise technology solutions
  • Experience & Certifications: A good mix of some of the following. Cloud Certifications, Agile certifications (Scrum or equivalent), project management certifications. Must have technical background.
  • Experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), program/project management and/or Agile methodologies
  • Must have worked in Consulting practices with a client facing role
  • Proven background in software release management and deployment
  • Good understanding in the payment domain, including (but not limited to) Payments, money movement, dispute/pre-dispute resolution, installment processing, core banking. Exposure in one or more segments: consumer, small business, and commercial clients
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 137,300 to 199,050 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
