Job Description

The Global FX and Cross Border Solutions team is charged with leading the design, build, and commercialization of best-in-class flexible enterprise-wide FX, settlement, virtual accounts, and currency management solutions as we seek to meet the growing and increasingly diversified needs of clients moving funds around the world. Additionally, this team drives Visa’s consumer cross border strategy for FX, multicurrency solutions, A2A, and wallets, as well as driving coordination and consistency with Visa’s Money Movement cross-border strategy. Finally, the team manages the strategy and operations of Visa’s FX Marketplace and is responsible for FX trading, operations, and commercialization of FX solutions across the enterprise.

The Role

The Director, FX and Multicurrency Solutions for Money Movement will be a pivotal member of Visa's Global FX and Cross Border team. This role will focus on driving the strategic roadmap and development of capabilities that enhance Visa's FX and multicurrency offerings across Visa Direct card, account, and wallet flows.  The successful candidate will collaborate with Visa Direct product, sales and operations, treasury platforms, and a broad spectrum of internal technology and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that meet the dynamic needs of our cross-border money movement clients.

This is a critical position reporting to the VP, Global Head of FX and Multicurrency Solutions. This role requires a strong product leader with exceptional structured problem solving skills, deep strategic understanding of the evolving payments landscape, with specific focus on cross border money movement solutions across client segments and use cases, strong commercial acumen, and an ability to collaborate and communicate across internal and external stakeholders. This individual will be expected to lead large cross-functional engagements, handle multiple projects at the same time, and present to senior audiences. They are adept at fostering collaboration across diverse cultures and geographies, demonstrating their acumen in a global setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and deliver Visa’s FX suite of solutions for money movement flows, in collaboration with the Visa Direct/Money Movement team. Identify new business opportunities which drive Visa’s FX and multicurrency solutions as they pertain to our Visa Direct cross border growth ambitions.    Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand client needs and define business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic plans. Develop and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement of goals. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on thorough analysis and projections. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities and adjust strategy as necessary to maintain a competitive edge. Support Visa’s corporate development cross-border focused agenda by identifying key capabilities which could significantly accelerate our cross-border revenues, assessing those capabilities relative to Visa’s position in the payments ecosystem, building business cases, and articulating recommendations for senior leadership.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Continue to evolve the suite of FX and multicurrency solutions for Money Movement/Visa Direct clients across card, account, and wallets at a global and regional level as appropriate, through a cohesive, integrated data-led approach for the short/mid/long-term to drive accelerated growth, consistent with Visa 2030.

  • Align and refine the FX solutions roadmap with Visa Direct’s broader cross border strategy and key client segment needs.

  • Develop deep familiarity with key players and business models in the money movement space within each region and identify key trends which impact (positively or not) Visa’s ability to compete in grow and compete effectively in key segments

  • Build strategic frameworks and develop clear and concise executive level recommendations to drive the FX and multicurrency solutions money movement roadmap, in collaboration with the broader Money movement team and other cross functional and regional partners. Communicate recommendations to mid-senior management, other executives, for regional staff in a clear, concise and impactful way.

  • Develop business requirements and business cases to support capabilities development, prioritization, and delivery of enhancements or new capabilities, based on client/use case needs.

  • Collaborate effectively across Treasury platforms, technology, product teams, operations, compliance and other key stakeholders in bringing new solutions to market.

  • Develop pricing strategy and product collateral for internal and external stakeholders.

  • In partnership with finance/product/data leads, setup performance monitoring for key strategic indicators as needed in order to track impact of key FX and multicurrency solutions for Money Movement/Visa Direct

  • Attends external speaking engagements where needed to outline Visa’s strategy, the latest trends in FX and cross border money movement methods and promote our strategy and vision.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
-10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
-12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
-Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
-Extensive experience (10+ years) in FX, multicurrency solutions, or cross-border payments, with a proven track record of strategic planning and capability development.
-Strong understanding of the global payments ecosystem, including Visa Direct and treasury platforms.
-Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
-A proven track record of delivering high impact results working on projects in the areas of corporate strategy, growth initiatives and new market, segment, or business strategies
-Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
-Ability to coordinate cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders
-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with functional and regional leaders within Visa.
-Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible.
-Proactive and effective communicator. Experienced at presenting information to all levels, with ability to facilitate group discussions and debate and proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across geographic and functional lines
-Global or multi-national business experience working in a matrixed organization is preferred

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 178,400.00 to 258,750.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
